I'm glad he's doing well.  You are bound to be on tenterhooks at the  moment but the longer he goes without seizures or any major problems, you more you will relax.  Hopefully you'll be able to re-introduce him to Lu soon and things will get back to normal(ish).  Fingers crossed he continues to take the tablets in treats too

Helen, I swear he looks like he's smiling in that photograph.  And you know what?  People have patterns shaved in their hair, so Riley shows how it can be done with just as much insouciance and flair by a cat.  ;)  :Luv:

Seriously though am very pleased he's remaining stable, and still have everything crossed here that he continues to make strong steady improvement over the next few weeks.  And well done to your Mum on coming up with a sensible - and aesthetically pleasing way to portect your junk important stuff.

Sending tons of love to you, Riley and Lu and hoping you have another enjoyable and uneventful day today.

Hope you can start to sleep and relax a bit more soon Helen

Is the medication a temporary or permanent thing? It sounds like he is much easier to medicate than my two!

It's permanent  :shy: He has four tablets at 7am, two at 3pm, four at 7pm then two at 11pm. Thankfully he's taking them hidden in treats but I don't know what I'd do if he starts to play up, he's very difficult to medicate 'normally' as he's so strong. Just got to hope an dpray he continues to play the game!

You got any pics of our brave soldier?  :Luv2:

It's a bit rubbishy as had the curtains closed to keep the room cool for him.

Here he is earlier today, you can't see all his bald patches - he has one on the back of his head from the MRI, one on his throat for the blood tests, the back of both rear legs are shaved, plus the 'soles' of his back feet!

So pleased he's progressing well, Helen. I'm sure everything you're doing is absolutely right, and the advice you've had from the vets has been spot on so far. May this continue until Riley is back to his full strength and we can celebrate a little rough and tumble with Lu.  ;)

He's doing OK *touch wood* - I've still got him separate from Lu as stress can be a trigger for seizures in general (not necessarily in Riley's case but I won't know til they happen). He's generally very laid back and unflappable but I don't want to risk stressing him out with Lu hissing at him at such an early point. Lu has been sleeping in the spare room all day so I closed the door and let Riley have the run of the house, I think he enjoyed the stairs although he's still a bit unsteady on his feet. Have just done a swap around so now Lu has the run of the house and Riley has just had his dinner in my bedroom.

Not only that but the vet said the medication would increase his thirst but he drank loads on the first day home so I measured what he drank yesterday and it was over 200ml, I want to measure again until 07:00 tomorrow so at least if they're apart I know it's only Riley who has drunk from the bowl.

I'm a little less on edge but think it will take a while before I relax completely, just got to keep everything crossed that the medication will keep the seizures under control and that he will start to adjust to it and be less wobbly :wish:

So pleased Riley is still doing OK .... I would let him and Lu meet up sooner rather than later ... the more you keep them apart the more Lu will start to resent him.  While he was away Lu has you all to himself, now Riley is back he is getting all your attention and Lu is missing out.  There may be a bit if hissing but it will pass quickly

I could do with your handyman  :shify:

Try rubbing riley with a damp towel and then rubbing Lu and exchange scent that way.

If I could i would be turning sommersaults now  ;D

Keep up the good work Riley

Good news about Riley  ;D On the bed front I like to think it was Riley that surreptitiously put a claw out and made the teeniest of holes so him mum would be awake more on his first night home  :) :evillaugh: :naughty:

You might not be that far from the truth there  :evillaugh:

So glad to hear that he's progressing, couldn't you just put an old duvet, blankets eg,to fill the gap?

This is Riley we're talking about, what Riley wants - Riley gets and he wouldn't let a mere duvet or blanket stand in his way  :evillaugh:

My amazing Mum has added plinths to the sides and bottom of both beds now so there's no hiding allowed - the wood is virtually an exact colour match so I'm really chuffed. I will be taking Riley to sleep in my room tonight, a tad comfier for me than the deflating blow up bed  :naughty:

I was thinking about reuniting him with Lu tonight but they just had a mini meetingwhich didn't go well so will leave it for a while. Lu was meowing to come in the living room (where me and Riley have been staying), I picked Riley up and opened the door, Lu just looked at him with huge round eyes then shot off upstairs  :-:

That spray sounds amazing.  What is it?

Sue, the spray / plug-in they are talking about are from Pet Remedy.  FYI Pet Remeday are suporting the auction this year and have supplied my with aprox £150 worth of goodies.

This is all excellent news - well apart from your lack of sleep
Blow up beds aren't great as paws can be inserted for the fun of it and I'm imagining Riley might just be wanting a bit of fun right now.
Can you put any obstacles in his way with respect to your bed? Cardboard boxes? I know how important important stuff is.
