I'm definitely aiming to help again with the only caveate being what with the new job I might have to be away for a night or two during auction time.

Quick question on suitable items - I bought my step daughter a jumper ages ago for which she promptly lost the receipt so I couldn't take it back. It's new, unworn with the labels on and taking up space in my wardrobe. Seems a shame to waste it.

All items are welcome ... if you can sort of relate it to cats in the description.  eg.  Lovely girls jumper, guaranteed to attract cat fur

I haven't a clue what all this wittering is about postal charges and who pays.

What I want to know is when it starts - have I missed that bit?

Have you seen my signature!!  ;)  .. it's been like this for weeks and no-one has noticed lol

I don't see any signatures - no idea why. There must be a setting somewhere that I have turned off.

Therefore, I still haven't a clue when it is :P

To turn on Signatures click on:

profile ... account settings .... look and layout .... untick the "don't show users signatures"

(If you promise not to tell anyone else ... the Auction will be 17 Nov to 1 Dec)  :naughty:

I tried copying and pasting it to my signature the other day but, for the life of me, couldn't get the size right or get it to post in bold.  Put it to one side to try again .....

Huge was referring to the Quote he'd posted within his post, Gill, so it was effectively "above".

I meant above mine.... lol.

Yeah ok... didn't understand much of the stuff after, but I think I get you.

As for the prices going up to all the others.... They're still cheaper. They haven't gone up to the RM's prices at all.

You mean below

Their prices have gone up to along with all other carriers. postage is sfer it to everynow a total rip off.

We did charge the postage to the winners as it was included with what they bid but we couldnt use that money to actuallly send the items.

Think about it............every winner pays Purrs postage, Purrs then has to transfer all postage to every auctioneer....................just wasnt possible.

So now its hoped that larger bids will come in to make up for the huge chunk of postage that we used to add on at the end as we never gave that figure out until auction had finished and it could add as much as £500 to the auction.

Quite surprised that the postal charges weren't charged to the winners anyway. But clearly this makes things a lot fairer.

Perhaps people could hunt around for better postal services (there are some around) than Ripoff Mail.

People have searched!

So where?
See Sam's post above.

As all of the parcels I sent last year made it safely to the winners I'll be using MyHermes again.

In general anything over 3" / 8cm thick has to go as a medium parcel, which as Sheila says is over £5 second class - even if it only weighs 10g

However there's an exception to this in that if an item is less than 6" / 16cm cubed then it can go as a small parcel which £2.60 second and £3.00 first. Clever packing needed I think!

Just to give folk an idea, a standard mug is around 400-600 grams in weight, if the packaging makes it a medium parcel, the postage to UK (2nd Class Royal Mail) is £5.20.

I knew those weightwatchers kitchen scales would come in for something.  :-[  ;)

Not that I'm suggesting there will be mugs  :shify:  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Wow, just catching up on this post... woo-hoo! Great stuff.
I will happily also donate some prints/gifts from our business for the auction. Will try to keep up with the post to see what's happening (lots of cats need sorting/neutering at the min  :tired:)
So exciting!
