Is it true that NFCs like to wander?  Apart from wanting to home rescues, this is one reason I wouldn't want an NFC as we are unlikely to ever have an enclosed garden.

I do so love the look of them though  :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

Oh drat!! It normally works but I just upgraded the app! Won't let me do on desktop version either!!

Was a photo of Rio in the bathroom sink... Really water obsessed lol!

And NFC and MC (and all cats) are a great addition to any home to get back to topic ... My photo antics digressed xx

I have six NFCs and one little coonie.       The NFCs are mere lightweights in comparison with some already mentioned and the heaviest is about 6kg.      They are obsessed with water [as is the coonie].     Very laid back.    One is very chatty [and norty].   All love cuddles but aren't really lap cats.      The coonie is only 5 months so still has a long way to go growth wise.     She is the lap cat of the family.      They all charge around the house causing mayhem [especially the Vikings].     Wouldn't be without them though  :evillaugh:

I have a MC at the moment, my second MC. He is a big, not yet fully grown, 8kg. However my old MC boy was never that big and a mere 4kg on short stumpy legs. My vet always commented the majority he saw didn't meet up to their giant expectations.

Neither were/are lap cats but like to sit next to their person.

Rio (current MC) is also obsessed with water like Liz's. He is very demanding, rarely seems to sleep, knocks things over and bullies his sister. But he is a big souk and the most handsome cat I ever saw :-) .... But I'm biased

I have an NFC Master Svartleheim Starlight Express or my Starrykins aka Star he is just a big kitten in a 9kg body

He is in moult at the moment so there is a lot of hair and bribing to brush and comb, he came to me 18 months ago underweight and had to be shaved, I am friends with his breeder and his former owners neglected him >:(

I have a half Maine Coon in Jester who is obsessed with water and weighs in about 7kgs as do some of my moggies and ferals = we grow them big up here

I also have an 8kg Ragdoll in Casper he is a blue bi and my lady Ragdoll is a petite 3.5kgs and os a choccie Seale pointe

Mine are all rescues and live with a variety of ferals and domestic cats and their pets my 3 Border Collies Sky, Sunny and Mistral

When full grown they will need a very large carrier and even Misa my 7.5kg moggie cant fit in a standard carrier and travels in a cage.

Cant help you on the rest though

Maine Coons and Norweign Forest Cats - What are they like to keep?

I'm doing some research into my dream breeds which are Maine Coons and Norweign Forest Cats.  A friend of mine used to have what she called a Giant Maine Coon but looking at pictures was a NFC.

I know she paid a lot in vets fees as he took dog dosages in medicine but he was a picky eater. He had a rather high pitched un-male like squeak rather then the usual deeper male mew.  She found him as a stray and adopted him that way so we had no history of where he came from or anything.

She used a large box from the vets for him, but do they need to have larger then normal carriers/crates to travel in.

I'd love to know what they are really like to keep, as a lot of books gloss over bad points.
