Thought I'd give an update....it turned out to be callouses, just worn skin.
The vet thought it was just down to how he walks and the fact he's walking on wood floors all day.
A relief, albeit a weird one!

Absolutely.  He's booked in for 8.30 and I'm looking forward to going home and having a good scrub...I've been itching since reading the page on Ringworm online.

Will have to keep an eye on his brother now!

Possibly but could be ringworm and you would need a vet to put an ultra violet light on to see.
Its very infectious and can pass to humans, so you may want to rule it out

Nibbled back legs
« Reply #1 on: March 18, 2013, 12:36:52 PM »
Afternoon all.

Our littlest (Sherlock) has two bald patches on his back legs, both is the same spot, and both about the size of a pea.  It looks like he's been chewing his legs for some reason and has taken the fur off.

We've checked for fleas and have given both boys a flea treatment, but they seem clear.  They don't go out, so I'm not sure he could have caught them outside.

He's not bothered by these patches and is happy for me to examine them.

Any ideas what this could be?  Is he just nibbling his legs for a psychological reason?

Traz
