In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Hi Kim and  :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: to you and Minnie

Very much hope you can sort out Minnie's problem quickly.  As you say, cats are sadly very good at hiding discomfort but the fact that she is eating and drinking hopefully means she is not too uncomfortable  :care: :care: :care:

Hello Kim - a Big Purrs Welcome to you and Minnie  :welcome:  Am sorry to hear she's not feeling so good at the moment, and hope the vet will be able to get to the root of the problem on Friday and make Minnie feel more comfortable.

What a wonderful background to you life with cats.  A few of us started out in life belieeving cats were "not for us" and got converted along the way.  Cats can be like that  :evillaugh:

Hi Den and thanks for the welcome. I have already had good advice so Im glad I joined. Minnie is ill today - bleeding from a sore near her bum. Vet is puzzled. Thought it might be a tumour but can't feel anything. Have to take her back on Friday. She is eating and drinking. She must have been in pain. They are so stoic aren't they.

 :welcome: to Purrs   ;D

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

That's a real rags to riches story in cat terms  :naughty: Just posted on your other thread about allergies, fingers crossed you can find something that works

Hello

I have joined because I need advice so I will say a quick hello here.

I was a latecomer to cats. My mum hates cats so much (calls them rats) that I grew up believing I too hated them. When I was in my early 30's I helped a friend out in a crisis and looked after her 2 siamese for 2 months. I was hooked. As a thank you, she gave me 2 kittens, Alex and Priscilla (it was supposed to be Elvis but he really didnt look the part, being pure white!)

I went to live in the USA and they came with me. I found a stray kitten stuck in a storm drain on Santa Monica Boulevard so we now had Monica. We then went to live in New Mexico where our landlord left an unwanted kitten to die and we took her as well. Alex died (hit by a car) aged 7.  The other 3 came back to the UK, spent 6 months in quarantine and Priscilla died aged 10.

Monica went blind last year but was as sweet as ever and didnt suffer in anyway but last summer she started breathing strangly and the vet wanted to operate but we decided not to put her through it. She went to sleep in my arms, aged 17. That now leaves us with Minnie.

Kim
