I've had friends who lost cats to FIP. I pray that none of my kitties ever gets it.  :(

What a stunning family and the two gentlemen are splendid  ;D

I have just read Smokeys story and so pleased you were able to give him a home. FIV is not as bad once people realize that its so hard to pass on but know that FeLv is much more of a problem. Presumably the latter is what sent him to the Bridge so young

The very worst one is FIP and very hard to diagnose until after death.

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome! I've already made a post about my Bridge baby, Smokey, in that section. Now I'm going to post pictures of my other kitties.

First up is Midnight. She was our neighbor's cat until they moved and left her. We took her into our home around the end of May 2005.

Two weeks later, Midnight gave birth to four kittens--2 stillborn and 2 survivors -- on 9 June 2005.

The two survivors turned out to be boys and were named Star (because of the way his face looked at birth) and Lucky (Lucky wasn't breathing and had a faint heartbeat).

Star and Lucky have grown up to be very handsome gentlemen.

And finally, we have Momo. She came to us three months after we lost Smokey. We brought her inside on 24 April 2011, the day after my birthday...I think Smokey had a part in us finding Momo. She was just a little tiny kitten of just barely 5 months old and seven weeks pregnant. I am not a fan of spaying female cats that are close to giving birth, but given how small Momo was and how the vet told me that Momo had six kittens in her, if I had let her give birth she, and quite possibly the kittens, would have died.

Her first day in the house.

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

Hello everyone!

My name is Renee living in Southern California. I am 45 years old, divorced mom of four human children (David-age 20 years, Lauren-age 18 years and will be 19 next month on 4/11, Christopher-age 14 years, and last, but not least, Michael-age 13 years). I also have five feline children (Midnight-age 8 years, her sons, Star and Lucky, age 7 years, and my baby girl, Momo (will be 2 years old on 29/11). And finally, though he crossed the Rainbow Bridge almost two years ago, My Smokey (23/3/2009-14/1/2011) is still a part of my heart. He was FIV/FeLV+ and in the end, it was anemia that killed him. I miss him so much. :( After I take a look around, and learn about this site, I'll post pictures of my kitties.  :)
