It's so hard JS - so many of us know exactly what you're going through.  I cried every day and night for 7 months when my Smudge was missing and still do now after 5 years even though I know he's now buried in my garden.

The thing is with Chi is that he keeps coming home eventually and we all have to believe he will come home again.  He keeps choosing you to be with and he will come back.

Love Mary xx

I'll admit I've just had a bit of an "out of control" cry. I really had built hopes up he'd reappear this evening. :(

I knew straight away. My boys eyes are greener, very intense rather than startled. And he has a rather characterful rip in his right ear, a result of looking after himself before he moved in.

Thanks Sheila. Boy, I miss this lad. I hope, hope, hope all those people that are telling me he's on a jaunt or caught somewhere that's likely to be open any day now because it's after Christmas are right. I NEED to see him now, because this worrying is a nightmare.

I've had no joy yet, Shonagh, but will keep trying.

Needless to say many people only register a "found" cat a couple of weeks after they actually find it, because they are "trying it on for size", so's to speak  >:( So it is still worthwhile registering him on as many sites as you can think of and continuing to check these on-line sites such as NPR and AnimalSearchUK, Cats Protection and Yes, Bumtree aswell in case someone is holding him but doesn't want to let go of a lovely lad.

Incidentally there is a close lookalike for Chi posted as "Found" on AnimalSearchUK, only a few miles from you, so you may get calls relating to this cat. It's not him but I had to squint hard to be sure (hence the need for such a good photo!). Here it is, so's you are forewarned...my heart leapt for a moment :(

This is he. The Bear that is breaking me.....and making me potentially prematurely grey. I love him anyway.

No! Haven't posted on the National Pet Register. Or posted on Bumtree. But posts are flying about on FB. People are crossposting and bumping like the good 'uns they are. (There ARE nice people in the world....other than Purrs people. Hurrah!)

I hope he's let out of wherever he is if that's what's happened. Tonight would be good, but tomorrow would be fine too. I'm not a bossy individual.

Have you registered him on National Pet Register as lost, Shonagh? Also, what about an ad in your local Bumtree Lost and Found section, and in the Pets section too? Much as I dislike the site some people only think to look on there.

If someone has "adopted" him for Christmas they should be thinking of letting him out soon, hopefully he'll make his way home quick sharp.

Can you pop a good photo on this thread too? I've got some time so I'll run some checks for you on the national lost and found ads - another pair of eyes hunting can't hurt can it?

Chin up. We'll find him.  :agree:

I don't know what else to try.  :(

Flyers distributed, posters up, radio agreeing to broadcast, currently bothering the local press.

Dumped loads of used cat litter at the bottom of the garden so there's a smell he knows really strongly and put one of my worn jumpers on the shelter outside.

What else can I do?

JS that's ok. As long as you have one put something together like "Please RT and help me find missing Chi" then you need to put a link to a picture with your contact details on.
Then tweet StreetCatBob and Sarah Millican. Ricky Gervais likes cats and there is also piethefatcat.
Happy to help if you want to  PM me

Not on Twitter, Louise. (Well, made an account for Blackpool Cats in Care, but not for personal use.) Am on FB and people have been sharing.

Liz, I honestly don't know which neighbours might be on holiday. We aren't really a very close knit community. I have put flyers through every letterbox on our road and the next three. I am going to attempt posters today, but typically it is raining heavily and I'm just getting over a bug. I don't have an option though, because I feel useless doing nothing.

Also got the local radio to make broadcasts and posted on the local papers FB page to see if they'll help.

I wish I knew where he was Sheila. :( I'm not the type to get possessive of cats, no matter how loved they are because I recognise their free spirit. Part of the problem, eh? Couldn't like dogs this much could I...? :tired:

Thanks to everyone topping up the vibes. They're very much appreciated.

Thinking of you, and hoping Chi will come strolling back, wondering what all the fuss is about! do you have any neighbours who have gone away for Christmas and he could have got shut in garage, shed or house? Dillon spent 10 days in our neighbours house once when he went through their cat flap which had been set to "in only"  for them to catch their own cat before going away.

Private landline number.

Sheila, I've called sporadically since we missed the call with no joy. :( I got an answerphone message once but the message I left was somewhat garbled because on top of my boy going walkabout, someone up there thought it would be funny to give me a bug Christmas Day evening....This resulted in me spending most of yesterday passed out in bed and unable to put up the posters as I wanted to.

I'm still not 100%.

I just want him home. I miss him so much. :(
