I know your Mum and Dad still miss you terribly, but until you can all be reunited would you please make sure Ross is suitably cossetted?

It's so hard to lose them. And it's beyond comprehension that someone so young and vibrant could be and then, not. But he's always with you, you know that.

Thanks for all your thoughts ladies - very much appreciated at what's a difficult few days when even the sunshine seems to mock our loss to be honest. And of course, Ross picked last night to decide to stay out until dawn, making me realise we can't wrap him in cotton wool either. . . .

A year today since I last saw your incredible, handsome, mischievous face. We had a snuggle, a little play, I kissed you. You went out into the early morning sun, and I never saw you again.

I've broken my heart for you all over again today. I still feel tremendous pain at the manner of your death. You didn't deserve it.

But, you know I think of you, and above all else, what I hold inside is a grin as big as your heart, because you - beautiful boy - were the brightness of our lives for a full year, and what a magnificent gift of your love you gave to us.

Thank you. I hope you're basking in a glorious golden morning, whiskers sensing the breeze, and that life where you are is good. Bless your heart. x
