Thanks for all the good vibes folks. TBH operating is not something we have considered with Lottie at the mo. She functions very well as it is not a bad case, and she has known no other way as she was born with them. Bren popped in for coffee the other day and was astonished at how well she does, showed off playing with a fluffy mouse then hopped onto my lap for a cuddle. It might distress her more to have the upheaval of an op, as she got very stressy just going to be neutered!

we had two 'wobblies' last year. Sadly one died as a kitten but Daisy is doing well. We brought Daisy into the house as we thought she wouldn't live very long and after a few weeks of her catapulting herself of desks, people, old cats we decided to let her be homed to a special lady we knew.

In both instances I was amazed how much they compensated for lack of cordination by mania-power

This article suggests the retina needs to be checked out before any cataract replacement should be considered, to ensure any operation of this kind would in fact help her sight.

If she has them in both eyes, though, it might be worth considering having at least one eye looked at to improve her quality of life. If she's going to live the full life most wobbly kittens do, perhaps we could rally round to fund some tests?

Some of you may remember the story of Lois, and her babies Lottie and William from last summer.

Well, Lottie and William are now 6 months old, and have grown quite a bit! William is a big boy, and going to be chunky and gorgeous.

Lottie went to be spayed on Friday. When I went to get her, the vet told me they had discovered she also has cataracts in both eyes, which are there from birth. They found out when they sedated her and her pupils had dilated. I suspected she didnt see right as she often stops and really looks at something, and uses her nose to sniff things more than normal. However, this doesnt seem to be hampering her in any way as she has spent the afternoon sitting on my lap, trying to play with my wool and knitting needles.
