I am so glad things are improving   I wouldn't worry about him fancying a change of food  Mine have done that  uasually after I have just bought a large supply of something!  Fortunately living just down the road from the local rescue nmeans that homeless cats benefit  Oscar having been homeless less than a year ago still eats what he is given but I am not expecting it to last!

I think it may have been a steroid injection but cant remember.

He ate properly yesterday although he wont eat the food he was eating before.

Today he hasnt eaten as much although he is eating biscuits with his meat so think he is Ok.

I will keep an eye on him and he was lying in the sun on the window sill and looked very relaxed  ;D

Very interested to hear this Sheila and he was given something else as well as convenia, dont have name to hand.

Probably a Vitamin injection, Gill - Neil does these hand-in-hand with the Covenia too. Hows Misa tonight?

My old girl Pursley (15 1/2) has had two similar episodes, and fav vet Neil does the same thing each time........................ She picks up within hours then carries on being well for months/years before she re-lapses again. It's almost as if she gets depressed and gives up ? Her movements become sluggish and she struggles to jump up as well. Neil has never found a cause,

Our Dingle (RIP 20 October 1997), had similar phases of being "down" from about age 15. I commissioned a drawing of her in 1992 as I didn't think she had long left  :innocent:  Never found anything wrong until the end but that was when she was almost 21!  She had ABs on and off throughout those years and bounced back each time. We used to call her the antibiotic cat  :)  Go figure eh....

Sending get well soon vibes to the wonderful Misa

Oh Gill - havent been on and have just seen this - big loves to Misaman :Luv2: :Luv2:

I'd just like to add that Tazi used to go like this, just as Sheilarose said. He'd then go to the vets, get his jabs and he'd be brand new for good few years until the next mysterious episode.
I did actually wonder if i was actually wasting my money and it was the trip to the vets that snapped him out of whatever it was and not the jabs, as the transformation was amazing! lol
He first got it aged about 2 and then not again until he was 6 or 7  then 12, so maybe it is just generally under the weather, bit of an upset tummy and general feeling sorry for themselves??

Anyway!! hope big lad picks up soon and whatever it is clears up quickly
Cats are independent, don't listen, don't come in when you call, stay out all night and when they're home they like to be left alone to sleep....Every quality that Women HATE in a Man, they LOVE in a Cat...

Yes thats just how Misa is but he is only 10yrs old  :(

He is moping again today and has eaten about 3/4 of a pouch which is not like him, he is usually sitting up and waiting for food as soon as he sees me coming, mind you Sasas food is gone and dont know if she came in.

I am sure the weather isnt helping cos like us they dont know if they are coming or going.

However have just been sorting through some old papers and the convenia jab at my vets has increased dramatically, like £10 an injection!

Sorry, Gill, only just seen this. Glad Misa's feeling a bit better now.

My old girl Pursley (15 1/2) has had two similar episodes, and fav vet Neil does the same thing each time, and yes it's been Covenia that has worked for her.

She picks up within hours then carries on being well for months/years before she re-lapses again. It's almost as if she gets depressed and gives up ? Her movements become sluggish and she struggles to jump up as well. Neil has never found a cause, or indeed has given us any cause for worry, but he's always careful to check her over thoroughly. Neil hasn't taken bloods from Pursley because he doesn't feel it necessary unless she's showing actual symptoms of something that bloods might identify that covenia wouldn't "cure" anyway. He just gives her the shot and the Covenia does its magic for her.

I hope this helps you feel a little brighter about him?

Sending belated vibes for the lovely Misa's continued recovery.

Filled his watering can last night and he stuck his paw in and had a drink  :shify: :shify:

He has eaten about two pouches of mashed felix and some biscuits since he has come home and hope that is not just the effect of the jab and that it continues.

Thank you all.

No he doesnt drink in the house and he has had mini bit of turkey but then went straight outside, the vet said that the second injection would help his tummy if it was upset.

He seems a little brighter and just hope the eating follows.

Aw well hope he gets better soon!

If he's drinking might be worth trying to liquidise some food and see if that works?

He definately wasnt himself cos he moaned a bit in the car but just huddled in a ball.

Didnt want to come out of the carrier.

HE was felt and looked at, temperature taken, heart listened too and everything was OK, he has no lumps or bumps, his mouth looks good and also throat.......sigh but the question is why isnt he eating and he has lost about half a kilo now weighing in at 6.1 kg.

So vet is mystified and he has had a convenia jab..................at a shocking cost............and another jab which we are hoping will sort him out but if still not improving by Monday, he will have to go back.

His tummy was empty which confirmed he is not eating, I know he upchucked a furrball 2 days ago and all the food he ate at the time. He shows no signs of hyperT or kidney probs but the next stage will be blood tests.

He decided he liked it there so much he didnt want to go back in his carrier and wanted to snooze on the vets table.

So hoping this is just a hiccup and he will mysteriously get better  :scared:

Misa is very down in the dumps and has moreorless stopped eating although he ate some biscuits and a mini bit of cat food last night and was hoping he was getting back to normal.

But over night he hasnt eaten and he is back to just lying in a ball.

So he is off to the vets tonight to see Gareth at 1620, please send some good vibes for my Misaman, he hates vets and travelling in the car.
