I have some big and good news re our toby... he has been reserved for Adoption!!

He will be going to a lovely couple who have fell head over heels in love with him and we are very sure that he is going to be spoilt rotten and we will get lots of updates. Current plan is that we will take Toby to his new home this coming Thursday.

Great news for Toby but also very sad for us all to see him go - though we are also very happy for this wonderful big lad. He truly deserves the best!

thanks Tan hun.... we doing fine just still very exhausted and frantically working behind the scenes to arrange and finalise a couple of fundraising events this month including a community event and our Abseil Challenge: http://www.sunnyharbour.org.uk/abseil2011.html

Only just 6 weeks to go if we make it to 'D' Day so its a battle to get everything organised but we are getting there. In the meantime though we've ended up with a few new cases that were in dire emergency and are still working away to get more rehomed as best we can.

I have been collating a few pics over the last couple of weeks with a view to putting an update together which I will endeavour to do in the morning as this very ~~tired~~ exhausted bunny really needs to turn in for the night

Thanks Helen... can't lie it is exhausting and we are trying to get a few more rehomed before the big day and limiting what comes in strictly. Not very often we put ourselves first however on this occasion we REALLY have to

Certainly feeling more like a huge whale every day and bending is getting harder and harder and thanks to my own health complications it can be a struggle but rescue is part of our life and the cats are equally as important so they can't do without

We are very lucky that our niece has been coming to stay at weekends and during school leave and has been an immense help all round.

As far as Toby goes he is such a happy wee boy and hopefully his purrfect home will come up shortly and time permitting we will have his adoption page live soon so that we can begin the hunt in ernest for his new home. He really is a very special boy and will be so so missed when he leaves us but he just deserves the very best in life now.

Hey Tan... I know 8 weeks scary! lol I'm doing fine just very exhausted and I'll make sure that Paul keeps you all up to date at the time as we're not 100% sure how things will turn out due to my own health complications... but... time will tell but we are obviously hoping that both bub and me will be fine

Toby has done wonderfully well and we are so proud of him. He really is a wee darling and will make 1 very special home a very happy home

He will certainly be very much missed when he does leave us.

Help yourself to whatever vids you feel you want to use Tan hun. A lot of them do feature the da bird as it is EVERYONES favourite... needless to say our supply gets a tad depleted quickly with so many playing with it but they just love it and that's all that matters lol I have a couple more vids to put up online which feature different ends too so feel free to help yourself to whatever vids you want to use.

Hi guys, firstly sorry I haven't updated in a few weeks with all our news however we have been checking in from time to time on what's been happening... and I'm trying hard to put together an update for you all on what's been happening at the Harbour however we have run off our feet with the kitties and keeping up with hospital appointments due to the impending arrival of Baby Ross in around 8 weeks!

In the meantime I thought you may like to hear how wee Toby is getting on. He was finally given the all clear to go forward for adoption last Friday and to begin slowly regaining strength in his back end through play and gentle exercise (though tell Toby that )

All issues have resolved themselves and he is back to a regular diet. His pelvis has healed really well and is very stable however he has been left with his right hip sitting high. He has function in the leg and it is very stable and over the next few weeks he should begin to get more stength in that leg to allow him to use the leg completely normally. At the moment his back legs are a little weak and he still compensates for this side however our vets feel this will correct itself in the coming weeks.

Just a wee note to let you all know that Toby has once again stabilised. We have in the last week allowed him out for a couple of minutes to check his gait but thus far he is still very wonky. Once we are sure that his tummy probs are beginning to settle we will be looking at getting both x-rays done at once of his innards and also of his pelvis so we know what is happening.

For now, he remains his very happy paddy paws self adamant that every time you look at him you MUST feed him!

HI Guys,

sorry not updated for a wee whiley... all been rather manic here to say the least and frantically trying to prioritise cases for coming in whilst scratching my head and trying to find homes for our current residents.

Toby has stabilised a tad more and finally after 4 days of lactulose had another poo!! his last being Saturday... however this one wasn't as dry as the others so hoping we are starting to make progress and get his innards moving a little better but only time will tell.

Still waiting on his paperwork back... hopefully it will be here this week but if not will be chasing...again!!

Good news folks - looks like this complication has let them see the light and they will sign him over

. Will be putting the forms in the post tomorrow morning.

phew!! glad this stress is over.... and so pleased that we can now freely move forward for Toby's sake. Obviously the best outcome will be not to have to put him through the ordeal of a barium x-ray and surgery but only time will tell but at least in the meantime if there are any serious complications we can act immediately.

His family are very upset and want to come and say their goodbyes however I have said they will have to wait until he is feeling better and more stable (and the paperwork is in place! )

Don't get me wrong I do feel for the family but with 2 other cats to care for I really do think this is the best outcome for Toby and also for their other 2 cats who will now get the basic care they need and have never had

Poor Toby. I would be (and know you are) very concerned that they would not be alert to any issues or problems Toby may go on to develop as a result of his RTA if he went back into their care, and it's not fair of them to expect the vet (or anyone else) to let them spread the cost if (as I suspect may be the case) they won't follow up his care, assuming he's returned to them.

Am hoping when they get back to you they'll have seen sense and will step back and allow him to be signed over. Please let it be so.
