Glad these was good news re the lumps - sounds like poor Olivia was constipated and probably dehydrated as a result.  Not good about the condition of Olivia when you got her back or not being able to speak with the vet.

Will they send the results back to your usual vet so you can have a proper talk about them. Otherwise I would be tempted to ask the vet to telephone you or arrange to call in to speak with them. Would it be worth asking whether the constipation and dehydration that causes, had any effect on blood results?

Good luck with the Fortekor and hoping she continues to improve

thats good news about Olivia.   I would be pretty unhappy too about her condition.     I would suggest putting the tablets into a piece of Webbox thats what we've been doing with our wegies and it works a dream.     I think though the fortekor might be too big for this though even if you cut them in half.     Good luck!

Exactly what I was going to suggest! and fortekor does fit in the piece of Webbox if its halved, I gave Sam his fortekor like this for a couple of years - he never knew he was being medicated!  ;)

Stuart, I think the vet should have spoken to you too.  I wouldnt have been happy either  >:( Hope she goes on ok with the medication

I would have been seething at the lack of a vet and also her condition.......sounds like they are not really that caring.

Thanks for the Vibes folks, look's like they may have worked  ;)

the lumps in the abdomin turned out to be fecal matter
:censored: for getting me all worried n such  >:(

just one thing peeved me off, the vet didn't come out when we collected Olivia
we did get a few answers off the nurse, but I thought the vet would have spoken to us ??
Me still coming out of nightshift mode didn't help either, should have asked to see vet
and another thing, we took Olivia out of the basket and she had poo sticking to her fur and
she had wet herself, you would have thought they could have at least taken the poop off  >:(

trying to remember all that was said??

grade 3 heart murmur which has enlarged her liver, Kidneys in Very early stages of failure but
not Chronic, Potassium levels are normal, just the creatine slightly raised, there are no infections
in the blood and the white blood cells are normal too

although she is still groggy for anesthetic, she made a bee line for her food and has had some kibble
and water, will start the Fortekor tomorrow, which is going to be fun as her facial features arent going
to make giving tablets easy

just a matter of waiting now, just hope she picks up

Oh Stuart  :(

The heart murmur is something many many cats live with and the early stage kidney issues could be down to dehydration  Hope the X-ray brings more positive news

Not good news  :'(

Olivia has been diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur
and the kidneys are in the early stages of failure  :'(
don't know the exact results of creatine readings yet

so at this moment, she is being put on a drip for 2 hours so they can sedate her
and get an xray to check the heart and see if there is a lump in her abdomin

news I didn't want to hear  :'(

Olivia is now booked into the main veternary clinic tomorrow for full bloods to be done
the vet says she can feel a lump in the abdomen and that she has a slightly raised temperature

I really hope this does not turn out to be something more sinister  :scared: :(

Fingers crossed for her today.  Is is possible she has a furball? - Alice goes off her food when she has one. I normally pick her some grass to make her throw up and she is usually OK after that.

Thanks Guys, she wanted out this morning, but just sat there - none of her usual galavanting round the garden
she had 2 licks of her pate and that was it, maybe 7 bit's of kibble and still turning her nose up at the dreamies
will let you know how I get on today

sorry to hear about Ducha Gill, I'm sending vibes her way too
