They didn't have fosterers, WC. ;) They came straight from where they lived previously.....I think it's probably to do with a change in environment and the second tray will help matters.

He's not been used to going outside to poo has he?

I really don't know !  :shy:

I think while with their fosterer they were both indoor cats.  Neither show any signs of wanting to go out.

Obviously, Id prefer not to have poo on the floor, but Ive coped with far worse with cats Ive had in the past - I fostered one girl who thought it was important to throw up before a meal .  Shed walk up to her food, vomit, then start on the new stuff.  I wondered if shed got used to regurgitating for kittens or something ?  Shed come to me from being a stray and we had no knowledge of her past life at all.  At least I don't have that to cope with

Ive had the completely unhousetrained, too .....

I can see that Mark and I will be having a competition for "poo highlights of the day !"  ;)

Lovely updates and I'm so glad they've settled well. Tthey're gorgeous, especially Celyn, but then I am a bit biased when it comes to black cats. :Luv2:

Shame about the poo  but I'm sure you'll get that sorted soon and a special poo tray sounds like the way to go.  Mind you, as you say, there's no guarantee they'll see it for what it is.  :evillaugh:  He's not been used to going outside to poo has he?

I think a poo tray is a good call. :) Glad they're doing well other than the mishaps.

Great updates WC. :) Any more accidents?

Sadly - yes  :tired:

Mr Celyn decided to leave a large poo up by our front door.  At least we know hes "been" ....  If Id caught it, Id have left  a little in the litter tray - but it was in the early hours and Kieron flushed it !  :evillaugh:

I get the impression from what Kieron said that Celyn had hung on to that for a while .....  Seems it was odourless and a tad dry ....  Thing is - we dont yet know waht is "normal" for him and he had eaten a lot of dry stuff.  Hes drinking though, too.  Seen him do it - and hes eaten wet food :)

I had another cat, years ago, who when upset by changes would use odd places to poo.  Mr Gizmo.  Giz would use a tray happily until something disturbed him, a scare from anothe cat or a loud visitor, then for a few days hed hide all his poos in the srangest places - under rugs, wrapped in the curtain on the windowsill .  Yeuch !.....  Then afer a few days hed calm down again and hed be back to using the tray

If it carries on we will offer him his own "poo tray" and hope that solves the problem.  He and Olwyn both wee happily in the same tray.   Hes not bothered by her having been in it too.  But maybe he wants a place "just for his poos" as it were.  If only he could tell me ! With observation and experimentation my guess is he and I will get it right  :)

Everything is else is going fine.  Both like to eat in the evening - and consumed a reasonably large meal of biscuits (Purina adult) and a fair portion of cooked chicken .

Im ashamed to say I shared part of a mug of milk with Olwyn - who was clearly after me to let her have a taste ! I used to do that with Mr T and a little cat slobber never killed me yet.  Dont worry - it really was a teeny taste and I think she just wanted to know what it was !

So watch this space for the great "poo update" - Current thinking is I will give him his own extra tray tonight, show it to him and hope for the best !

Knowing cats, I will probably then find Olwyn asleep in it !

I SO wish theyd be active by daylight !  I want to take pictures or ask Kieron to take pictures of them to show them off

They are so pretty !  Olwyn is currently curled up on the sofa after a mad game with "Da Bird"

Celyn is sitting on my bed now - hes "killed" the fluffy fake-fur cushion on it (Basically lay beside it, hugging it  and kicked the whatsits out of it with his back feet, just like Mr T used to do ).

Ah well - still early days  :)

Oh boy they sound like Pussy when she was here.

She would sneak my food if I glanced away LOL and also was eyeing the shelves to climb............I really was not kitten aware and suddenly had to be  ;D

I think they sound gorgeous characters and you are bringing out the best in them to be fulfilled kittys  ;D ;D

wonderful updates! they sound like characters  :Luv:

They most certainly are  :Luv2:

In many ways so like Chloe and Mr T and in other ways so different.

Thankfully Olwyn has a fairly noisy bell - as even with that shes "Stealth Moggy".  Im out of practice.    Just been typing away here thinking that Madam was happily playing in he cat cube.  Then I realise she not ......  Celyn I know is in the little bedroom again, prancing about with Kieron and trying to climb the shelves.

So where is Olwyn ?

Then I hear scrabble - bonk - scrabble .....

Shed helped herself to some cooked chicken that I had intended they had before we went to bed  - the idea being that full tummies might help them sleep.  Not only hs she eaten what I intended for her, shes had Celyn's portion too!  Its a good job I have more in the fridge.  I will have to let his reach room temperature well away from my little pearly cat-burglar !

Id forgotten about cats who help themselves - Chloe and Mr T were sedate pensioners who waited for waitress service !

Ah well - Olwyn is happy - has proved to be resourceful and taught me a lesson - NOTHING is cat proof !   :evillaugh:

Aww thank you all !!

They are now registered with a vet   A basic checkup will be booked when they are both really settled.  No mad panic for that as they are both going to be "indoor kitties" or "escorted outdoor" kitties.  Neither show any incliantion to go out.

Both have found and used their litter trays and both are beginning to show more interest in food.

The like to come and play when its calm, quiet and dusk.  Olwyn adores the cat cube that Mr T had.  She slept on my bed last night, on and off, in between doing midnight recces  and playing with Celyn.

Celyn has decided that he likes to wander about - he spent part of the night with me and part with Kieron.  None of us has had a 100% night since they moved in  - but thats all par for the course.  Celyn also seems to have an interest in music - apart from sitting by the stereo, he pricks up his ears and purrs :)

Celyn means "Holly"- but he needed "pruning" - he got himself caught up on the carpet this morning and I thought it time for a claw-clip ...

So he and Olwyn have nice, neat paws now .  Bless them, they were so good !  No struggles, scratches, hisses or spits.  Poor little devils; I sing to them !   Just a load of nonsense, and it seems to work.  My "calm the kitties " spell LOL ! And Im no choir member !

I adore them both - and they seem to think we are Ok too !

I do adore that second pic of him... but they're both soooooo adorable! I just want to hug and hug them!!

:Luv2: now that makes me want to hug you !

Both are fine - last night they curled up together on top of Kieron in the little room .  How 3 of them all fitten together I'm not sure but apparently thy managed it and it DID mean I got a bed all to myself  :evillaugh:  Kieron told me that at one point, Celyn was very busily washing Olwyns head  :Luv2: hopefully its because he likes her so much, and not because hes trying to dominate her !  We have had a tiny bit of chasing - but I think he is buys staking his claim to a "room of his own" so no doubt it will all calm down.  Needless to say, that particular room offers a good view of the garden, birds and other peoples flats.

Celyn visited me in the night for cuddles and purrs - but Olwyn prefers to take things in her own time.  I offended her by trying to cuddle her.  she had let me pick her up, but a kiss on the nose was too much for her as yet, and she went back into hiding to wash me off  :shy:

And SOMEONE left me a poo in the middle of my sheepskin bedside rug ....  Nicely hidden by two pretty little "sleep pillow"  thingies that had been on the bed ....   Ah well - so be it ....  its all a learning process for them and us !  It may be that they are cats who prefer a separate place to poo from where they wee - though I dont really want a litter tray on my rug !  :shify:  My suspicion is Olwyn - who I think hung on under the sofa, felt happy and relaxed in a nice, quiet room and ....  well ... as she was relaxed nature took over !

Cant wait to se waht they get up to today and where they decide to "hang out" - it will be typical if they BOTH adopt Kieron, decide the small room is their place and ...  I dont get a look in except for food and poo duties

Just posted on the transport thread and then noticed this  :innocent: Lovely photos and so glad to hear how well they are settling with you both

Anyhow, I posted on transport thread about you saying that you wanted to take them down to the vets to be registered. I would more than happy to drive you down there and back home (if you have not got any transport arranged). Am around most of week except Monday and does not matter to me if it is young Phil or straight talking Michael you want to go to

Especially as we all realised that Mr Cat was a bit bigger and heavier than we all thought - also would make it a very quick experience for the 2 kitties - otherwise they might think they were going back on another 4 hour journey on the M25/M1

Aww Bless you - I will PM you as and when we get something organised and thank you so much :)

All hail, Kieron, for crawling under the bed to catch a picture of Olwyn LOL !

It really is Celyn - although he is a truly so much like Mr T its going to be hard in some ways to realise he's a quite different cat

Celyn emerged for cuddles ...  Olwyn promptly started chirruping for him and found him.  Now they are happily under the bed in the small bedroom - finding more "dust bunnies" no doubt and probably Chloe-smells as its the room Kieron uses .

Celyn was busy  earlier, doing what appeared to be an inventory of Kierons Classical music collection.  he has yet to tell us if he has any particular preference  ;)

Any noises off cause them to bolt back under the sofa - its a shame that "kiddy from hell" is visiting the flat below us ....  Its noticeable when the child is quiet, they emerge.  When Grandma who's flat it is, her son who is the child's father, and the child all scream at eachother we feel like joining the cats :(

Ah well - it will all settle down tomorrow, & no doubt and we can get a real routine going :)

They sound great WC  :Luv2:

Can I borrow Celyn?  i love being kneaded  :evillaugh:

Noooo! LOL - the only time so far Ive been vaguely bothered by either was when Celyn spotted another cat and went to have a look.  It was actually him, in the dressing table mirror  :evillaugh:

Unfortunately, he was so suprised NOT to have found a playmate he jumped backwards, taking a vase of flowers with him .....

No serious harm done apart from some slightly wet cosmetics, a soggy carpet and a very contrite cat

Both are back in their under-sofa cave dozing.

Im very much hoping they will emerge at lunchtime and that we can get some pictures while the light is good - and that they eat something.  So far theyve licked some Felix, nibbled a few treats and investigated a tangerine I ate !

Im used to piggy-pussies LOL & no doubt that will come in time, looking at the size of Celyn

Celyn and Olwyns first night/morning with us

Well here we are - its about 7.45am and WOW!  :wow:

What good kitties !

Kieron and I went to bed at around 10-10.30pm - both of us tired and absolutely delighted that both cats seemed so settled.

Around 3am I woke and went to the loo and was promptly joined by Celyn - purring his head off.  for some reason (probably because the door is kept shut !) both cats think the loo is the BEST room and want to explore in there.  Ive a feeling that for the next few days - no-one will be able to enter it without a "toilet buddy" alongside  :evillaugh:

Celyn decided that my bed is the best place ever - mad purrs and kneading of me, the bedclothes and .... my hair !

Olwen is a bit more reluctant - she likes windowsills so we are going to have to keep an eye on her !  I don't fancy a "flying cat"

Both settled down again after that and didn't wake me again until about 7am.  both clearly wanted breakfast, but apart from a few licks and a brief nibble - they don't seem  over impressed.  the only information we have about their food likes is they've both been used to wet and dry food .  So far, we've tried Felix (a good smelly one LOL!) and go-cat indoor cat biscuits.  Simply as we had a stock of those  let from Chloe.

Poor little loves - as Ive no real idea of what their usual routine is and there food habits it will all take  a bit of settling.  My guess is they will love lunchtime (roast chicken !)

Both have used the liter tray for pees .... Nothing else as yet.  as I type, Celyn is trying to et on my lap and Olwen is trying to drag Kieron out of bed by jumping on him.  Its funny how both have decided who is going to have which person....  and its turned out the way we hoped out might .  Have to say I adore both equally - but Celyn is definitely more cuddly !

And if this typing goes a bit awry, its cos hes just jumped onto the keyboard for a headbut and kisses(ooh fishy breath - he's eaten LOL!)

We will take photos as soon as the light is half way decent :)
