Thanks for all the positive vibes and thoughts, they really are appreciated
Update is that he had me up all night, not because he was poorly but because he was being a pest trying to open drawers and pull things out from behind furniture! I fed him a small amount of chicken breast at around 3am and slept in the spare room with him so I could hear if he was being sick as if he was loose in the house and was sick somewhere hidden I'd be none the wiser. I then fed him some more chicken at 7am and again at midday and he kept all three meals down which is positive.
I decided against taking him to the vets this morning as a) he was now keeping food down and b) until we get the results of the faecal test on Monday (hopefully) they won't really know how to treat it so as long as he is keeping chicken breast down and otherwise happy in himself I'm going to leave it until I speak to the vets about the test results before I take him back. I have a funny feeling they're all going to come back negative which will mean we are at square one with no idea why he's poorly
Is there any chance it could be related to the plastic chewing a little while ago, maybe a bit still stuck in his stomach so he's got a blockage somewhere? I can't remember what the outcome of that was.
It does sound positive that he's got an appetite, hope that the vet can give you some answers and he gets back to normal very soon:hug:
The vets seem to think it's a bit of a red herring, he is passing motions (runny ones, although he had two 'normal' poos in the midst of all this diarrhoea) which would rule out a blockage but he was doing a funny flicking thing with his mouth/tongue yesterday like something was irritating him so I don't know.
Maybe Riley just has an acid tummy from not eating properly for a while, it ought to be a positive sign that he is hungry. I'd be worried if it was my furball.
The thing is FF he has been eating like a horse, albeit purely chicken breast so his tummy was used to eating. I'm a bit worried about feeding him just chicken breast long term, he won't eat the RC sensitive so he's eaten exclusively chicken for 10/11 days now - does anyone know if it could be harming him ie lack of taurine or something?
