Good news today is that all Ellie's test results were negative and the vet thinks it must have been caused by something she eat - will keep her on Hills I/D and get her weight checked again in a month but she really seems fine now.

No news yet from the vet - I am less worried than I was though as she really seems fine.

Glad it seems to have sorted itself out, did you get the official results today then?

Fingers crossed it's nothing untoward, I'm sure I've read somewhere that blood in feline poo is not something to be overly concerned with whereas with humans it often is

Let us know how the poo sampling goes!

this is in fact a fairly common problem

Trigger always has a fair amount of fresh blood in his poo if his system is at all upset, but usually it is a one off and doesn't worry the vet - nor me now

Ellie passed some blood on Friday so we took her straight to the vets - she is fine in herself, very lively, playful and affectionate.   She is four years old, has always been quite slim but the vet said she has lost some weight since last year.   She hasn't passed any blood since and I managed to get a sample late today (why do they never go when you want them to !) for tests.   In the meantime she is on Hills i/d which thankfully she is enjoying and some paste twice a day which isn't so popular.    Am just praying it isn't anything serious - any advice please ?    The vet said it could be one of many things.
