Thanks Debs yes they get on great. Sabre+Sky were from the same breeder but from different litters.Sabre was born 8th feb07 and Sky was born 2nd march 07.Simba was born 23rd feb 07. Simba has been suffering from I B D and has been the vets loads of time for a bad tummy. :'(
They get on fine with Corky our 11 year old male (did take a while though) but Geri our 5 year old girl still stays out of their way. Sky and Geri are even worse, think Sky wants to be Queen cat. Lol.xxx

Good news that Teoh does not have a tumour - Phew.

My sisters cat was diagnoes with epilepsy 4 yrs ago and with medication she is fine - over time they have decreased the dosage.

Stay well Teoh xxxx

Hi Sheryl

Sorry to hear about your sister's cat  :(

But thank you for letting us know that she is doing fine on her medication, that's most encouraging to know

Good news about her dosage being decreased too

Fingers crossed she may not need medicine again one day :Luv2:

Wow!!!  :wow:

Thank you Caroline, your photo's are a real treat to wake up too!!!

You are so lucky, what stunners they all are, I especially love the pic of them all snuggled up on your bed, they look gorgeous with the 3 different variations of perfect bengal fur!

The picture of Sabre on his back made me do a double take, it's so much like the picture of Teoh taken on his very first night here!

Simba's fur is the most amazing colour there and what a distinguished face

I really adore the richness of the brown bengals, Teoh's Dad is a brown bengal he is called Apollo, his fur shimmers, the breeder keeps saying the silvers 'drip with glitter' but I cannot see it, I have only really seen that on Apollo being brown

Oh dear. This is bad. I must not get another bengal but I have completely fallen for Sky  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

What a cutie pie she is!!!! I have not seen very many marbled Bengals, never in real life, only spotted ones, she is beautiful  :Luv2:

They look as if they all get on very well

Did you get them at the same time or are they different ages?

Do they get on alright with your moggies?

One of the last litter our breeder had was given back to her as apparently the bengal terrorised the lady's moggie!  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Brilliant photo's Caroline, thank you so much for starting the day off with a great big smile

If he does have to have medication it really can stabilise them -  though you may need to hide tablets in very nice foods  :evillaugh:

That's good news

Teoh was quite a good boy when he had his tablets last time, I hid them in small pieces of chicken breast from M&S!!!

Walked away from the first attempt to put said tablet directly into his mouth with only a few minor scratches on my face and throat!!! :evillaugh:

If all else fails, Jules loves his steak so I might steal some of his finest fillet steak to disguise Teoh's medication, he will never guess!  :naughty:

Thanks Desley, glad to learn that Teoh is not as rare with this condition as our vet believes  :thanks:

He is only just one year old just a baby still really

It does worry/sadden me when told by a vet that she had ruled that diagnosis out originally as she thought it was so rare!

I would give anything to make Teoh better, poor little love  :ahh:

So glad for you that he doesn't have a tumor, just praying that he doesn't have another fit  :Luv:

Thank you Caroline

I have just had to stop the boys play fighting, it seems when Teoh gets over excited he is more likely to fit plus we are coming up to month later so watching him like a hawk as it says on many of the cat epilepsy sites that the fits often go in 30 days cycles  :scared:

You have Bengals  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Please can you post some pics of yours, I would love to see them  :Luv2:

Sure the boys would too!

Aww, fingers crossed he stays stable, we do have a couple of members with epileptic cats on here, I Can't understand why the vet would say it was rare. Good luck with him.

Hello all

Good news and bad today regarding little Teoh

It was a bit of a palava today tbh, the receptionist claimed that she had no idea when the results would be back as (and I quote) we don't usually send brain scans away for second opinions so this is all a bit new to me!

I asked her if I could telephone the other laboratory myself, I was on hold for an age and then she told me that our vet would chase it up for Jules and I today

The vet has 'just' telephoned me at home at this late hour to say that Teoh's second opinion on his brain scan is clear of tumors and has come back 'normal'  :)

It was sent for a second opinion to an expert at the laboratory as there were 'increased signals/activity in his brain and spine'

The diagnosis is that Teoh has not had a head injury as first thought. He also does not have a brain or spinal tumor. Our vet originally said that although the MRI scan did not look like an 'obvious' mass/tumor, it was increased activity and she wanted to be sure that there was no tumor there and find out why there were such increased activity/signals when MRI scan's usually show nothing at all out of the ordinary

The expert at the lab told our vet that she is 95% certain that Teoh is suffering from epilepsy caused by electrical activity in his brain hence the increased electrical signals seen on his scan

Teoh's level of electrical activity in his brain is very high :'(

Our vet confessed that she did not think that it would be epilepsy as it is very rare in cats  :-:

Jules thought this pretty much all the time, perhaps he should be a vet!

So, we have to 'monitor' Teoh now, he may not have a fit again, but the expert suggested to our vet that if he has another seizure within the 2 months of the last one that he should be given medication to control his seizures

The medicine does has side effects she said, so it may be that we have to monitor him for a while and find out the frequency of any future fits to be able to get his dosage correct before he starts any medication

So, very good news that our boy does not have a brain tumor and we will have him for a nice long life  :Luv2:

But, not so good is that we now know that he is epileptic and could possibly suffer with that all his life

There is a chance that he may never have another fit, so fingers crossed and thank you all for being there

Sorry to ramble on  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

They are both gorgeous and huge.  Our new little snow boy Teeko looks like he is going to be a big boy- he is only 4 months old and is alreaddy nearly 3kg!, Raffiki our Silver marbled boy is very tall and muscular but doesnt weigh as much as our brown spotted girl Mellika who is a real chunky girl, they were born on the same day but are not related.

Im not sure why our breeder isnt breeding many silvers anymore she is also not breeding many blues now, she is concentrating on snows and browns and is also breeding savannahs now too.

Any news on Teohs 2nd opinion yet, fingers crossed that the news is all good xxx

Teoh is so muscular!!!

His heck, head and shoulders are solid muscle and he is still growing

True, the pics don't show his size off properly, waiting with camera to catch him fully stretched out ;)

It's quite a shock when he stands up to see how tall/long he is!

Those pics dont do Teoh justice

He was sniifing our tea on the dining table the other evening...ie stood up and head over the table with his paws on the table

The table top is 850mm high....so I guess he must be 1000mm stood up, and Howard is nearly the same length/high  :-:

Big cats indeed  :naughty:

Awww

Thank you everyone for your lovely kind words  :thanks:

We should get the second opinion back tomorrow or Wednesday so fingers crossed

Teoh's fur has started to grow back, yippee!

But it has a long way to go....

Yes Sheryl, Howard is a big boy now, about the same size as a normal adult cat but way behind Teoh on size, Teoh is massive!!!!!

Do you know why the breeder is not breeding silver's anymore?

In America Silver Bengals are not recognised as a pure pedigree... and in all 3 of my bengal cat books, there are only photographs of brown ones! Not sure why  :-:

The breeder we used is in Bristol, Redgrave Bengals

I have also heard that silverglam are very good too, Howard's father 'Silver Shadow' is a stunning stud from Silverglam, Howard really is his father's son  :Luv2:

Hi Debs,

Glad to hear that Teoh is doing well, good luck for the 2nd opinion.  I bet Howard is quite a big boy now, which breeder did you get your Benglies from?  My Mums friend is interested in a Silver and the breeder we got ours from is not breeding many silvers anymore.

When Mellika was spayed in Sept she had all her fur back by Christmas.

Take care, huggles for Teoh and Howard xxx
