I saw a photo of the Stanley look alike which the neighbours took... it's definitely not him.  I'm not surprised given how long he's been gone but still very disappointed and sad...

Haven't managed to catch the Stanley look alike yet but I was speaking to some of the people who live there and they have seen the cat around recently so are going to try and photograph it for me. It's got a collar on which Stanley didn't when he went missing (microchipped instead as I was worried about collar injuries) but I suppose someone could have put one on him...

Smelly food seems to be helping - managed to catch a long haired grey cat yesterday. But no tabby and white Stanley look alikes yet...

Trap now has smellier food in it, and i'll get a selection when i next get a chance to go to the shop... am hoping it won't go off to quick in the hot weather, and hoping to catch a cat! Thanks for the advice.

Good luck x x x

Pilchards worked a treat when we trapped some feral kitties, they turned up late at night when they thought no-one was about,
late nights & patience paid off x x

It's been over a year since Stan went missing now, but we had a phone call yesterday from someone who's been seeing a tabby cat who matches his description.  I went to see the place and it's virtually next door to one of the 'sightings' we had last spring soon after he went missing.  I'm presuming it's probably the same feral cat, but I'm going to try trapping it to be sure - at least I can check if it's been neutered, but I'm scared of getting my hopes up too much...

Thank-you for your messages, and thank-you for looking out for him Tina. He went missing from Dovecote Farm, just outside Stannington.

I know a cat who turned up on the windowsill one morning after being missing for three years, unharmed except for some broken teeth. So I've not given up hope that I'll have a Stanley cuddle again one day...

Sorry to hear that Stanley has gone awol since April

My colleague lost her cat (a Siamese) shortly after introducing a new greyhound into the house.  She found her cat about two years later just around the corner at a neighbours house, presumably he had just looked for somewhere else to call his home.

Good luck

Stanley went missing on the 16th April 2009 from Stannington in Northumberland, and we haven't heard any news of him despite searching as hard as we could.

Stanley, you're the best cat, and we think of you and miss you every day. You're the most loving and cuddly cat and are honoured to have shared the last five years with you. I hope that wherever you are, living elsewhere or at Rainbow Bridge, you're as happy and loved as it's possible to be. We'll always love you, and we'll never forget you or stop looking for you. xxx
