I have been asked by one or two people why I have not applied to got on the list to be considered for a donation from the Diary Fund.

The reason is that I am with Cats Protection which is part of a National registered Charity, although each branch has to raise its own funds apart from a very small donation from HQ. I feel that people are more inclined to donated to registered charities and we have the privilege of Gift Aid too. So for that reason in my opinion Purrs efforts should be for the private charities who do an enormous amount of work and make it a little easier for the bigger charities.

Yes ya right Elaine it is so difficult as they are all fantastic and do such a brilliant job for needy cats.
I wanted to encourage good support for all the rescues involved so that other rescue staff and supporters who are not members on purrs have the option to show thier support.

At the end of the day it's not a competition for popularity, its solely for the cats in need. The fundraising we do and all the work that goes into them, making the calendar, diaries, auctions, shows and any other projects are to help the cats, for them to have love, to help find forever caring homes, to give them the life they so deserve through the rescues. I really do wish we could get loads to give to all the wonderful rescues.

It seems to me that not enough true Purrs members have voted and a lot from outside have, so make your voice heard and get your votes in pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yeap you are so right Sam it is hard cause they are all so great and all are wonderful for the needy cats. Hopefully we will be able to support them all in fundraisers through the year, the rescue that gets chosen this time will be out of the next fundraiser. For each fundraiser we will do the same so each has a good chance of getting funds.

It is so difficult to choose, all good causes but I think I will have another good read and then choose perhaps rescues that have not yet received help from this site. I think that would be my fairest way. Although I appreciate the ones that have already been helped need more help.

Forgot to meantion, all Rescues and fosters are allowed to vote as well and can have one of the votes to support themselfs. You are all very welcome encouraging your friends and other rescue staff to vote also. They will need to join and make one post on the forum so they can vote.

Ya still have till 10pm on Friday to get all the suport you can from friends, co rescue workers and anyone off the street you can bribe to help suport your chosen rescue.

We are also starting to do small fundraisers for individual cats needs like the cat show for Minimopsical.

Any fundraising ideas so we can help more rescues in the year are very welcome.

The poll is up here http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/index.php?topic=3048.0 to choose the Cat rescue who will receive the funds from our Purrs printed Diary fundraiser this year.

This is the only way we can choose fairly.

They are all very deserving rescues saving and helping soo many cats and i know we would all love to give to all of them. But from one fundraiser, we don't make enough money to give a reasonable donation that will really help so we need to choose one rescue for each fundraiser we do on Purrs.
