 :tired:

Ive heard if you attatch the posters with either cable ties or duct tape they should have a better hold, also if there's a local shop maybe pop a poster in the window when Janet gets back!  ;)

The nights are slowly drawing in now so its gonna be a day job, most cats sleep through the day so its gonna be rather hit and miss!

More positive vibes being sent and I do hope you get some joy from your posted fliers!

If Janet can lamanate the posters that would be great too!  ;)

Had another unsuccesful trip today. All 3 posters have now been taken down! I put about 2 dozen fliers through letterboxes, but there are so many houses around there, it was a drop in the ocean.
Had a whistle where he'd been possibly seen last week, but no joy. Went back to the woods behind the house and bumped into Mr Cds-he'd come home for lunch-he said the food is being eaten sometimes and he whistles morning and night! The area is so vast tho, it really is like looking for a needle in a haystack! Hope the fliers bring some info, but i'll have to go back with some more anyway!

Forgot to say someone on Catchat has lots of friends in Redditch, and is asking them to keep their eyes open for him! I've told her almost exactly where he was spotted so.......................... :crossed:

Yes any cat prints, but also it could rule out foxes or whatever, at least it would be narrowed down!  ;)

This is quite hard as your not there constantly and as you have only just met the CD's it would be a tad awkward!

Hi Trigger, if it was my house, i would be doing exactly as you did, but, as i've only met the cds's once and had one phone call, i don't really know what they're doing! I did suggest your idea of putting food closer to the house and he said he would, but as i'm even further away than i am from Cramar, i haven't got a clue!!!!

Hi Bazsmum, thanks!  Would putting flour down just show ANY cat prints tho? I don't know if they sit by the window looking or anything!

Well done for passing your trial Shirley!  :wooooo:

Would maybe some flour or whatever near the bowl on a dry night show the prints of whoever is eating it? This is such a palava and bless you for you really cant rest till you know for sure!

If they did know it was him then at least you could all relax and take it from there! Have they any outdoor shelter provided for him?

I don't suppose they have security lighting, do they, Shirley? - I was just thinking if they could put food out somewhere where the light would go on when something comes for it they could maybe get to see if it is GB

I used to sit in the enclosure with food just outside it, and wait and wait - Tosker started by coming only after dark - which was after 10pm in May, but gradually got earlier - only twice did I have to go to bed without seeing him

I do think it is vital some way is found of finding out if it is him eating the food - if another cat, or a dog or fox, is coming every night then GB could be miles away - I know that isn't what you want to hear, but this feeding and not seeing strategy could go on pointlessly for months

Hi Bazsmum-i am completely useless with finding my way around-it took me nearly 4 months to find my way to and from Cramar without getting lost lol! I think where he is now is about 6 miles from Cramar, but only 5 mins from the house (?) I might go over tomorrow and have another look-too shattered today-did a trial to be a volunteer at a cattery close to me yesterday (and passed!) but i ache everywhere now and am so tired! I am SO unfit lol! x

Hi Trigger, that's amazing, let's hope GB is the same, but they never see him-if he is going back for the food, he must be in and out like a flash! They do work all day, but put the food out at night x

Tosker was here only 12 hours or so but he stayed around, enough to find the food left out for him

I think any cat which has once lived on its wits instinctively looks out for a regular food source

Thanks Sheryl!

Yes, Gill, the cds's have been leaving food out ever since he went missing, most of the time it was being eaten, but it could have been anything couldn't it? He was only there a week, would he know where to go back to?  If it was him last Friday, it was quite a way from the house, could he still get back there?

Thanks Bazsmum, i just wish he could settle! Sometimes i think i might've been as well leaving him at work and popping in once a day to feed him, but, at the time, work was so bad, everyone was expecting it to close down but it's still going, 6 months later! Then, if i had left him and mommy cat, i'd never have known she had leukemia, and she would've had a horrible death wouldn't she? x

Thanks Janeyk x

GB's (or Charlie's) new home with me
« Reply #1 on: September 20, 2009, 08:20:51 AM »
Thought i'd start a new thread about my grey baby (GB) He was rehomed from Cramar cat rescue on 14.8.09 on a trial basis, but escaped after just over a week! There is a huge area of woods behind the house and Janet  (manager) and i have been over to have a 'whistle' for him, but no sign. On Friday, the new owner rang me to tell me he'd seen a grey cat and, when he whistled, he turned round, but then went back to 'hunting' in a bush! Mr. CDS didn't want to get too close in case it spooked him, as he was fairly close to a main road.....................
I decided to go over myself and have a whistle, but, as it turned out, i was in the wrong area, so knocked their door. So now i've met his new owners! Mr CDS took me to the correct area and we stayed for about half an hour, but no joy!
GB is still very timid, although he had started to let other people stroke him in the week before he was rehomed.
Any sightings, please let me know. Thanks.
I'll put a pic on when i've shrunk it enough!
