LMAO... if you'd had the last couple of months I've just had you'd realise how funny it is to call my life idylic :evillaugh:

thankyou very very much for everyone's kind responses... I met up today with someone who volunteers at the national trust house i work in and also volunteers at the local animal rescue.  They operate entirely from foster homes and knowing where i live thinks it'll make a wonderful foster home.  She's going to organise a proper home check for me asap!

watch this space!

Hi Squidystar,

Not sure how close Sevenoaks is to Biggin Hil but have you tried Foal Farm? http://www.foalfarm.org.uk/cats/

Might be worth a try

WElcome to Purrs - if you were in our area, I would certainly say yes to you fostering for us!! Most rescue organisations will ask that fosters aren't allowed outdoor access though, and separate from your own cats. Good luck.
Please spay your cat

Hi Squidystar &  :welcome: to Purrs

I'm sure you will find a rescue to foster for, what a lovely tribute to the cat that you recently lost.  Maybe you could go and have a look around one of the recscue centres near you and see if there is someone you could talk to in person if you're not keen on talking on the phone.

Looking forward to hearing about your little ones (with pics if possible too  :wow:), please keep us posted on the fostering situation  ;D

a quick introduction... I am Lisa... lover of motorbikes, the great-outdoors, keeping fit and all things furry, fuzzy and feathery! I aspire to be the mad woman in the woods with cats... I'm nearly there, just need a few more cats!

I have contacted all of the local rescue centres by email (I'm very nervous and uncomfortable on the phone)... but nobody has responded yet.

I have recently lost one of my 3 (rescue) cats  and my daughter and I have decided that rather than try to fill her place, we would like to foster.

I have:

*A national trust cottage set in 1000 acres of deer park. Away from busy main roads, but very close to the road through the park. It is a very slow road and mostly dead, but when open to the public has a steady stream of crawling (-5mph) traffic.

*However, I also have the ability to keep those kitties less road-wise confined to the house.

*1 x 6 yr old daughter, house-trained, cat-trained, responsible, well-behaved and calm.

*2 x 5 yrr old female neutered cats. Spend most of their time outside hunting, have recently lost their sister.

*1 x corn snake kept in a vivarium.

*I live and work onsite, so although I work 5 short days a week, 9.30 - 3.00, I am close by all day and always come home for lunch.

*time and patience. Although I have no experience of fostering, I have a quiet, peaceful home and lots of time on my hands.

*transport.

Please contact me asap if you are involved in animal rescue in the Kent - Sevenoaks area. I am would LOVE to help.
