I just bumped into Georgia again. Its funny as I hadn't seen her for months and now twice in a few days.

She showed me a photo of Kizzie on her phone. She said now she isn't getting beaten up by Daph, she gets into bed into the morning. She said she never expected to lose the young one first

.

She said she misses Daph so much. I told her about the Widow I did a homecheck for who said she missed her cat more than her husband

Georgia said "Lets face it, The cat was probably more affectionate, better looking and smelt nicer"

I just bumped into Georgia across the road. Daphne had to be PTS recently. Her jaw started crumbling, then she developed conjunctivitis. She was in & out of the vets during which time her kidneys failed

Daphne was the younger cat. Georgia said kizzie, the older one has turned into a new cat - full of confidence and not hiding any more. It seems as if Daphne ruled the roost.

Kizzy is at her new home

I forgot the camera but planned to use my phone. Daphne dived under the kitchen unit when I arrived, not to be seen again and Kizzie ran behind the TV. I managed to coax her out and was giving her a fuss when Georgia walked in and Kizzie dived under the sofa - so no pics. I expected a skinny cat but if anything, she is a bit on the portly side

- she is a calico but with a lot more white than Alice. She is very vocal and complained the whole time in the car

- she only stopped when I leaned over to fuss her which wasn't a good idea going at 50mph along country lanes

Spoke to Georgia, the new mum and Sue the fosterer so I should be picking Kizzie up at 5.30pm and she will be in her new one around 6pm. Georgia is off sick today but she said she plans on being well tomorrow to take charge of her new arrival. Lets hope the 2 cats are happy to be reunited

That's why I only adopt oldies but I have to say most of ours haven't been too bad healthwise once their teeth etc have been sorted for older cats anyway and Byron is just amazing for her age, touch wood!

Glad to hear this, I do like people who take on oldies, although I haven't homed anything older than 14. Mind you, apart from Zia, anything over that age has been too poorly to consider rehoming.

All of Kizzies blood results came back clear.. Although she weigh nothing she may just be a thin elderly cat!! Kizzie is probably around 15!! Who would believe we would rehome the pair to the same lady.. I am somewhat amazed myself i must say...!!!
As Mark says have alot of time for people taking on oldies and although its not easy we generally do well... on rehoming... I think the oldest must of been about 16 who was due to be PTS the next day, but we found him a home despite his thyroid issues.. A lovely ginger puss called Gus... !!

I bumped into the woman who has taken Buffy this morning when I was coming back from the co-op. She said the cat keeps hiding under the kitchen cupboard and should she board it up? - there are no chemicals etc and it is accessible so she has decided to leave it as a bolt-hole until the cat is more relaxed. She said she has been allowed to stroke her but it looks like it will be a slow process gaining her confidence. She sounds like she is prepared to put the work in

Her new name is Daphne.

Well she fell in love with Buffy and will be taking her to new home in a wks time.. Kizzie can then be assessed and we go from there, lets hope she starts putting on weight as there is a home waiting for her if she goes and all clear..

141 works for me, im with o2 and just tested it by ringing home and then doing 1471: 'caller withheld their number'

This lady is seeing the cats.. its all abit more complicated as on vets advice we have been advised to split them as theolder one is not gaining any weight.. But Buffy the younger one would benefit 100 percent from a home now...

Kizzie maybe dominated by Buffy and hence why not gaining weight, but we obv need to investigate that.. buffy is not a cat that would be confident enough to go outside.. she does not come out from her pen. but is handable. I did speak to this lady today and after a chat she is going to see them and talk to foster but the reality is that we would love to find them both loving homes but at the moment only Buffy is ready. There is not reason why Buffy should not have another cat around if she choose to take on another later on.. We are trying to do our best for these 2 and the best thing at the moment on vets advice is to see how they are when split up. The are not really, really close now.. Maybe the cuboard make them stick by each other for company but now not so..

I agree that it is best. She said she felt terrible. I said it is a long-term commitment and unless she was 100% happy, she shouldn't go ahead.

As for witholding numbers, I googled it and apparently the 141 thing used to work but they stopped it around 2 years ago. You can permanently withold yor number in phone settings or if you just want to do it for individual calls, for vodafone, you key hash32hash (there is no hash key on the macbook

) I think it varies with different networks. I will try it later.

On the mobile front, my new mobile was set not to show the number, not sure what hte setting was, but it worked on every call - I didn't think 141 worked with mobiles.

She won't be having them now. She said it was all a bit fragmented. The younger one is coming on in leaps & bounds and very energetic so she wondered if she was denying him a life with a garden and would prefer a cat or cats with needs that definitely will be happy in a flat. She is still happy to take the pair of FIV cats.

She just texted me to remind me she is home between 6pm & 8.30pm for me to drop the homing pack by - she is definitely keen!

. This woman is fine but for other cases, I just wondered if there is a way of blocking mobile numbers as so many people are only contactable by mobile and some of them I would prefer not to have my number

. Sharon keeps a separate PAYG for this but I would rather not.
