Thanks guys. It's all so confusing!
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Got the details through today. :shify:

It looks like as Parki has not had/been advised to have treatment in last 12 months she will be covered.

Hope you get your insurance sorted

It says ongoing conditions covered not existing conditions covered, completely different! If you pay all your premiums then you get life cover for a condition not just 12months. No insurance company will take on ill animals and pay for them

I dont know but in every insurance you forget about the claims and read the small print. I think they also have quite a low level of cover and dont know whether this is one off for the life of the cat or renewed every year.

This maybe is how they are claiming to cover existing conditions, by meaning those which occurred while they are insured with them!

Cover for veterinary treatment does not include any condition which was present before the policy was taken out

I hate to do this but this comes from that companies conditions.............my highlights

2) Cover starts from the moment we receive and accept your application and runs for twelve months. Any veterinary treatment for illness which arises during the first 10 days of the policy is excluded  Completing this proposal form does not guarantee cover.  Policies are issued subject to terms and conditions

3) Cover for veterinary treatment does not include vaccinations, preventative or elective treatment, whelping, kittening, spaying or castration or for any condition which was present before the policy was taken out.

If he isnt insured then I would speak to Axa and ask them if their standard policy would apply to him concerning teeth as he had teeth knocked out in an RTA..They will not set up a policy over the phone but if they agree that would meean you would not have to declare this when filling out the form, you caould also tell them that he lost his tale in the same accident and all this was before he came to you but he is fine now  :shify: :shify:

I'm suspecting that Capone's missing teeth/previous tooth and mouth infection might continue to be a problem in the future..

I am looking into which insurance company to go for - although - will this be covered, baring in mind his teeth were knocked out in the RTA?

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.
