Edgars owner has been in touch with me. She's finally had some good news regarding her finances (the MAIN reason she was rehoming) and feels able to keep Edgar now. I can tell she cares for all her animals a great deal so am happy for her.

Apparantly, Edgar has been inside a lot more with the cold weather too and is seemngly getting better at not getting bullied. :)

Edgar is still looking. His owner is quite worried because she thinks he's stressed with her and the others.

He apparantly tends to not hold his own very well bless him. Jeannie says that he used to get grief from Merlin and her other male cat.

It's his owner CC - her home is being repossessed. :( She really has no option and is terribly upset.

Aw he is lovely, and just like my Ollie with no teeth.

Is it his owner homing him or a rescue?

Bumping this up - Edgars owner is in a terrible position. She doesn't want to rehome her cats, but really has no choice. Can anyone help?

He does indeed - I think Edgar needs a very patient person willing to build up his trust; as opposed to Merlin who seemed a little more fiesty.

Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

Edgar is another one of Jeanies cats who she has to find a home for due to personal issues.

Previous thread was Merlin:

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,18343.0.html

I'll be getting more information shortly, but here's a picture of the little lad.

EDIT: More info from Jeanie:

"Edgar is 14 years old timid and friendly at same time - very odd. Likes outdoors and would be better either as a only or second cat. Its like he has mental health problems. His mum and dad were both ferals. He became more outdoors and wild when we moved here from the city. I have trouble sometimes getting him in the house because Timmy picks on him.  He is a big cat but doesn't stick up for himself and he isn't happy I don't think. He tends to sit on my front room window in a morning but it's difficult to get him inside to feed him.

He will use the cat flap to go out of the house but not come in due to him being frightened. He has hardly any teeth left.
I love him but feel he'd be happy elsewhere generally. Again its a real wrench as had him 14 years.

He will occasionally sit on your knee and purr and dribble away but unpredictably he will hiss and growl for no reason, but he would never claw, bite or hurt you. I had him looked at few times by vets when this behaviour started as I wondered if he was in any pain, but nothing was found. He has had dental work in past too. Some of his whiskers have gone white with old age!"

He sounds lovely, but quite timid which potential new homes should take into account.
