:welcome: Lois. People discuss all sorts of things on here but nastiness isn't allowed. How's the weather in New York state? We Brits are having a lot of snow at the moment.

Does across the pond mean me???LOL!

Yep

If you need help resizing your pics the following may help:

http://www.download.com/JPEGCompress/3000-2204_4-10404412.html?tag=lst-0-1

or

Image Resizer for windows XP

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
It's the 10th or 11th on the right hand side .. Image resize.
Once installed right click on the photo you want to resize.
Select resize pictures
Select advanced
Select custom
Put in 400 by 300 (sometimes you have to put in smaller figures if it is still too big).
Click ok and it makes a custom photo ready for uploading

You can resize more than one picture at a time by highlighting them all and following the resizing steps above.

We ballroom dance and will be out at our Valentine party - a lovely way to end an awful day...
LOis is laying here snoring -- if you hear a rumble for over our way, it's her!!! Man she can rip 'em!!!

Hi LOis and  :welcome: to Purrs.

We are a very friendly bunch and love chatting to visitors from all over the world ... we have a member in New Zealand and a few in France and I think we have visitors from across the pond as well.

I've never heard of a Honey Bear (will do a search on google in a minute) but BT sounds wonderful.

There is only one rule on this site that all members must abide by .... pics of your furbabe! LOL ;)

Look forward to chatting with you.

All the best

Sam, Foxy Zephyr and Rossi

Hi, I just came across you and hope I can visit a while.

I just left a cat chat room I was in for over 10 yrs. It used to be so much fun because we all pretended we were our cats and talked!!! We talked about good stuff like catnip and litterboxes and silly stuff. It was a great escape and a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, a few years back, it became a place to sit and gripe about the government. I hold very different views that most of them, so I was constantly being attacked. It got to point where I could hardly stand it. I told them this over and over. The other night, their rants became extremely nasty and I blew up big time and let them have it, and I pulled out. These were people that used to say they were my friends. Boy, are they ever nasty now!!!

I have yet to find anything that looks like the old place used to, but you know what - you have a separate place for discussing off-topic stuff, and quite frankly - you can complain about your government til the cows come home and it wouldn't bother me anyhow!!!! Just don't complain about mine!!!   ;D

SO, enough about that. My LOis, whose name I take here, is a big black domestic short hair who will turn 17 on the 22nd.  She is a diabetic, but otherwise in good health. She is a funny cat and real character, and loves her daddy. BT is a Honey Bear Cat, a breed you may not have there, and he is a big fuzzy dark silver tabby with a mane and tail to die for. He is my baby boy.

We live in upstate NY near Rochester, the home of Bausch and Lomb, Xerox and Kodak. My DH is about to celebrate his 30th anniversary at the Big K, which makes him an old timer. Kodak has not been well managed and is paying the price. I gave up the whole working thing a few years back as it was interferring with my life!!! I am now happily at home, quilting, playing on the internet, and pestering my two cats!!!

I hope you don't mind if I am here. I am hurting and lonely and will be glad to see some good cat stories and hear about you.

Thanks, LOis
