Max certainly loves his catnip 'fix' on a regular basis  :evillaugh:

He has the CP cushions, I keep it in an airtight container on the shelf, when he wants it he knocks it off and sits there staring at it until I open it for him  :evillaugh:  Then he'll chase it roudn the room and bunny-kick it to death  :)

I have 2 boy cats - one of them always goes absolutely nuts at even a hint of catnip, he even used to do it when I gave him catnip button treats - my other one is only affected on a few occasions.   I love it when Ollie is rolling about the floor and Harvey just gives him a look of 'what on earth are you doing?'.

Out of my 5 -Winston and FiFi go mad for it , Bungly and Sohie think it okay for a bit and Smartie isn''t bothered at all.
Cigars are by far the best and strongest , followed by Yeowww catnip .
Got a Yeowww sardine from the show at Doncaster and 3 of them like that especially FiFi.

Both my cats LOVE it, but I think theres a lot of variation in the quality of the catnip toys you can get, or the strength of the catnip. Some toys they'll go mad for, then get bored of it, while others seem to keep their appeal for longer.

I think these are some adorable catnip toys here: http://www.jakeandmicah.com/ - The refillable catnip blankets sound amazing.
If cats could go shopping they would go to nicecatstuff.co.uk

All the Clan Cats love catnip and are in fact having a catnip party on the lounge rug currently with Robin supervising!

I also have wonderful plants and have cut some for drying for the inside cats so it will be more "nip" parties for our lot

As our mob are every colour can't say its a colour thing although only one of my fosters ignored it!

I might get them some cigars for Christmas and see if they have any effect. Vader likes sniffing it a bit, but it doesn't do anything to him. Tachi isn't bothered at all.  :Luv2:

All of mine (and all of Boopy's last litter of kittens) go absolutely demented for catnip. Star acts like he's possessed if he has catnip and you remove catnip toys from him at your own risk :evillaugh:

It certainly does affect females, all my girls like it - but they do prefer teh cigars etc from the shop. There was a theory that the darker fur a cat has, teh less likely they are to respond - someone needs to tell that to pure black Phoebe!!

No not true cos Sasa likes it as much as the boys, although she would not demean herself by sitting in the tub

Byron does love a tub, there's a pic of her in the A5 diary  ;D

Byron is 24 and she loves it, Schui isn't bothered but he has a nasal problem so can't smell very well.

I read somewhere that only 50% of cats are bothered about the nip.

Jameson loves it - although there are times he will totally ignore it too.
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Have you tried super strength catnip like the cigars and bananas in the Purrs shop?  Both mine like catnip anyway but they go absolutely loopy for the cigar, the banana is stuffed with the same stuff.

Mosi isn't interested either.  Jaffa goes mad for it but he does respond less than he used to when younger.

Just out of interest, are anyone else's cats not bothered by catnip?

I don't know if it's their age, but my two aren't affected at all.
