In Northern Ireland we are also waiting to see some resolution in Ireland to their animal welfare legislation. Our Minister has put any reform of animal welfare in Northern Ireland on hold (and hasn't implemented the latest Animal Welfare Act) into Northern Ireland until they see what direction the Irish Govt take. The excuse is that our Assembly needs to wait so that they can make our legislation in line with UK and Irish legislation.

Sorry - I realised this is in the wrong section - please can someone move it? Thanks.
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

As this mainly affects cats & dogs, I thought this was the best place to post. Link copied from Zooplus forum
