For SueP (Paddysmum) and Sheryl :

Hiya Sue and Sheryl,

I incorporated your cat pics into the animation and the T.Shirt design this  morning.

Crowd scene still from the animation as it will appear within the T.Shirt design:

Please have a look ASAP and let me know if you are happy with things.

You can also see the animation on my website at the address:

http://www.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/AlfieCat/Letterbox_Video.swf

All the best

PS. Oh and I updated my NME cover shot as well  ;D

And my Letterbox Wallpaper :

Hi folks,

I am delighted to announce that we are "good to go" on the T.Shirt front!!.

I have the final pieces of the jigsaw puzzle in place as follows:

The supplier has quoted me a blanket P&P charge of £2.50 per order for 1 or 2 T.Shirts so please include that in the pricing.

Tan has VERY kindly agreed to collect the money. This makes perfect sense as she is equiped to do so, we all know her and she can retain the charity donation component before paying the supplier thus making life very straightforward. I will send the artwork and order details to the supplier myself and liase with them.

Please send payment as follows :

Quote from Tan:

Yes all that sounds fine by me, If peeps want to pay by palpay, the email to use in their paypal account is purrs@purrsinourhearts.co.uk

or a chq to Purrs In Our Hearts
Address  removed by request from mod.

I can do a bank transfer to the printers or pay by debit card on the Purrs account.

-----

So totals are :

Single Sided T.Shirt £17.00 each
Double-sided T.Shirt = £20.00 each
P&P on orders for 1 or 2 T.Shirts = £2.50

IMPORTANT NOTE - THOSE WHO HAVEN'T DONE SO PLEASE PM ME THEIR CHOSEN DELIVERY ADDRESS DETAILS ASAP

And the following news now looks dull compared to the above  ;D

Thank you all you special people

Cheers

Leigh

Good Afternoon folks,

I have just PMd most of you that have kindly offered to buy a T.Shirt so as to double check your order details and request information where required.

I have spoken to the supplier again this morning and they have confirmed pricing and are e-mailing me a P&P quote based on 1 or 2 T.Shirts and I will post this here as soon as I have it.

Just to confirm that you can have any of the three artwork designs on the front as single-sided, the Letterbox "Rockin' the Feline World" design + "My cat caught that gig!" where appropriate plus either of the other two artwork designs on the back as double-sided.

To those of you that are sending me pictures of your cats, I will start work on incorporating them ASAP and please could I ask you to confirm your design requirements eg.  your choice of front or fropnt/back artwork, quantity and size/s as well as delivery address details and I will confirm this with you prior to placing the order as well as showing you the t.shirt artwork/animation featuring your cat/s.

I will also be posting details of where and how to send payment later.

Cheers and thanks.

Leigh

PS. I have been back and forward through this posting and my PMs with a fine tooth comb and compilled a list in no particular order of those who'd like a T.Shirt as follows, if I have missed anyone I apologise and  please let me know ASAP:

Bazsmum
Christine (Blip) + OH
Ann Clarke (Tabby cat) (awaiting cat pics)
Tan
Sue P (Paddysmum) (cat pic received 100% A-OKAY)
Dawn F + OH
Stuart (Misty's Dad)
sandplangham +OH
Gail Bengal Slave (awaiting cat pic/s)
sheryl (awaiting cat pic/s)
Me !! :)

Oh and I thought it about time we had a dancing cat  ;D

Thanks Stu,

You're a star, please PM me to let me know the required size, your choice of design artwork, if you would like a single/double sided one and a delivery address also I will do  a "My cat caught that gig!" limited edition one for you as one of your cats did "catch that gig!"  ;D ;D

Cheers mate.

Leigh

PS. I'm hoping that you don't want your T.shirt flown in by helicopter as that might raise the delivery cost a fair bit  ;D ;D

That might be easier than it sounds but you're off to a promising start with a camera which has an opening shutter  :evillaugh:

Took me ages to get my three walking across the camera, I have hundreds of them climbing, laying down right way up and upside down, sitting, walking towards and away from the camera, eating, sleeping, tap dancing, juggling, whistling "dixie" but not walking across the camera. Alfie would stop and lay down as soon as the shutter went or change direction abruptly, I kept saying to him "can't you walk just one more foot in a straight line before doing that, it's not much to ask is it?" but would he listen?. Suzie lays on my pillow all day so the odds on her walking anywhere in daylight are extremely remote, Frankie is so lazy that if he could drive he'd have a car to take him around the flat, he never walks more than a foot or two before flopping down on the carpet, I think his ancestry is Californian  ;D

So "bon chance" as they say.

Cheers

Leigh

Will have a look to see what pics I have - if not suitable, I will get snapping.  Though camera broke the weekend, was at a wedding and it FUBARRED  >:( , dont think the shutter is opening, it is making all the right noises for taking a photo but showing nothing  :(  Hubby hopefully is getting me a new one  :scared: .

If I get suitable photos. I will try and edit them in photoshop to remove the background. But I would send files with & without back ground.

will get searching, that is my new project  ;D ;D

Absolutely Gail, providing that you could get me suitable pics with them walking left to right or right to left  (I could mirror the pic) accross the camera would work best also an un-complicated background would speed things up a lot. This would however take a little time to organise.

Cheers

Hi Sheryl and Sue,

Bless you both that's raised the total of T.Shirt into the monies for the Purrs Rescue Fund area and 9lives/PAWs for Life have their donation covered. In fact I have just been on the phone to the lady there to let her know about this posting.

What I'm now going to do is to finalise the arrangement with the T.Shirt supplier/printer and then I will PM everyone ASAP to confirm their details, addresses, size/quantity/design  requirements. I am going to ask Tan if she would be prepared to receive and hold the monies as everyone knows her and then the appropriate ammount can be forwarded to the supplier and Tan can retain the donation component and make the donation to the charities etc.

You can PM me or e-mail me : webmaster@alfie-cat.co.uk with your pictures for inclussion in the animation and T.Shirt and you will then receive the "My cat caught that gig!" limited edition version if this is your choice. I will start work on incorporating your cat/s' pics as soon as I receive them and there will be an opportunity for you to have a look before you make payment.

Hope this all makes sense

Cheers and thanks

Leigh

PS. Just wanted to add how much I've enjoyed this, it has been great fun and has given me a real "buzz" being able to apply my "dubious" talents towards such a worthwhile enterprise. It will give me another "buzz" when I see that everyone has safely received their T.Shirts and the donations distributed to the charities.....Rock On!.

Thanks Chris + OH you're a star, actually you are ALL stars, your generosity knows no bounds.

It's that time of the evening and it got me to thinking., just had a lovely warm refreshing shower accompanied by obne of my all time favourite albums Blondie's Eat to the Beat. so now all warm, clean and mellow  ;D

I love you guys, in all the years that I have had cats I've never "hung out" with a more genuine, generous and kindly crowd as we have assembled here on Purrs. Years ago,  my cats were a very "personal" thing, something that I kept close to me and never really shared with others outside my immediate friends and family but the last few years on Catchat and here have been such fun sharing experiences and laughs with you all and learning how much we all love cats, our cats, any cats and love to share this love of all things feline.

A very nice thing happened today, well two things really, on  the way to see mum in her nursing home after work I was walking up the road towards her home and on the corner next to the road there is a largish open garden area fenced in with low railings. Something caught my eye and it turned out to be two fox cubs playing with each other in the sunshine at 5:30 in the afternoon. They curled up together under the bushes and chased each other around the garden and I managed to take a few pics on my camera phone, if they are any good I'll post themj. I watched them for about ten minutes only a few yards away, it was beautiful. Then mum told me that they had a farm visit to her nursing home on Saturday andf they wheeled her down to the garden and she was able to stroke a pony, had a klitten on her lap etc. etc and that was "pridceless".

Edit: As promised not the best photo in the world due to it being my camera/phone, the two fox cubs:

Ann, no probs, take your time with the pics, no rush, i'll do my very best to incorporate them ASAP.

Cheers

Leigh

They're fun aren't they, I couldn't resist the play on words. Well I think I can safely say that they are pretty exclusive and, unless there's a Purrs convention, the odds on bumping into someone else in the UK whose wearing one are currently about about 6 million to 1 unless of course you are the kind Purrs member who has ordered one for her husband and one for herself in which case the odds are considerably lower :) If you wear one on holiday then the odds are about 6.6 billion to 1 and that's got to be considered exclusive by anyone's standards  ;D ;D

Considering the fact that most of us cat-slaves are hardly ever away from our fur babes then I'd say that you'll probably NEVER bump into anyone else wearing one!!!  ;D ;D

But then again you just might, isn't life interesting :)

Cheers

Thanks Sue that's great,

Maths really was never my strongest suit but I believe that makes :

I only picked 10 as an initial order so that I didn't have to take my shoes and socks off  ;D ;D

Please PM me your T.shirt size required and your address to which you would like the T.Shirt sent but first please send me your picture/s of your cats and, when I have incorporated them into the animation and the T.Shirt design you will get the opportunity to see the finsihed artwork before confirming your order.

All the best

Leigh

PS: I'd really love to explorer more the idea of producing bags, dresses etc.

I would like one of these wonderful T shirts.    :wow:  Think the black ones are so striking!

Am pants at posting photos, but will see what I can do, as I have a nice one of Paddy.  As to styling, I'm not fussy, but probably not anything fitted for my sporting little curves.  :shy:  :evillaugh:

I also love the idea of the bags and stuff too.  What a hot idea!!

:thanks: Tan that's great, a big thank you for all your help and support.  ;D

I just lost this posting so I'm re-typing it.

I have been thinking and discussing this with Tan. I'd like the 1st £100 raised to go to 9Lives/PAWs For Life cat charity with subsequent donations going to the Purrs In Our Heart Rescue Fund. The reason that I have chosen 9Lives/PAWs For Life http://www.pawsforlife.org.uk/ in particular is for their care and re-homing of elderly cats and those with FIV/FELV etc. As most of you know my three cats fit into one or other of these "cat"-egories (couldn't resist the pun)  ;D. Suzie is a beautiful 'ol girl senior catizen who I adopted from my mum when she went into a nursing home 2 years ago and my boys, Frankie and Alfie, both have FIV so you can see that this is a cause close to my heart. I always find it very heart-warming reading about the work of such charities in finding homes and looking after such cats who are most often far down the list when people are looking to adopt a cat.

I found this lovely poem on the 9Lives website:

REJECTION!

Rescued kittens, full of fun,
The people take their pick
And leave behind the older one.
She's lonely, so heartsick.

She's 9 years old, and every day
The people pass her by.
Don't want an older cat, they say,
Don't even want to try.

We want a kitten we can “train”
Not one set in her ways.
So in the shelter she'll remain
For many lonely days.

Pretty cats with fluffy fur
May get that second chance,
But ordinary mogs like her
Don't even rate a glance.

She feels her heart's about to break,
A picture of dejection,
And many times she'll have to take
This thoughtless, sad rejection.

She'd give out all the love she could,
You see it in her eyes.
If cats could cry real tears, she would,
And she can't verbalize.

She cannot speak to those that come
To choose; she can't appeal.
Oh, why did God make animals dumb
So they can't say how they feel?

Another BIG  :thanks: to those folks who have ordered their T.Shirt/s we are not far off the magic figure of 10 orders and when we get there I will place an initial order for these and post here/PM those who have ordered with confirmation of the placing of the order, details about payment and to request/confirm size details and delivery address. I plan to have the T.Shirts sent directly from the supplier to the customer so as to cut out the middle man (me) and thus save incurring extra postage cost and thus in turn maximise the charity donation. It would also be useful to let me have a contact e-mail address should it be necessary to contact you.

A NOTE FOR THOSE WHO'D LIKE YOUR CAT/S INCLUDED IN THE ANIMATION AND PRINTED ON THE T.SHIRT

If you'd like your cat/s included in the Animation and T.Shirt  and thus qualify for a limited edition "My cat caught that gig!" T.Shirt at the same price as the "regular" ones then please either PM me or post to this thread http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,15875.0.html a suitable picture of your cat sitting upright facing the camera like the cats shown in the crowd scene above and highly preferably against a plain or uncomplicated background. I will then do a new crowd scene for the animation and include this on your T.Shirt. I'd like to wait until I have enough cats in the new crowd scene (roughly 15-20) and then it will make the job of printing/distribution easier.

Thank you all you special people,

Rock On

Leigh 'n the Alfie Cat Crew

PS. Oh and I'm buying one too, a "My cat caught that gig!" / Tabby Road one  ;D so that'll be another £8.50 in the "kitty"  ;D ;D sorry (not) about the dreadful pun.

Okay boys, I'd stick to the music, I don't think that modelling is your thing.  ;D

I do like the Limited Edition 'my cat caught that gig'  :wow:  That would be brilliant!

Of the two treatments, I prefer the one without the arrows.  If you picture the garment being worn, the arrows would make it look a bit odd, particularly on ladies  :shy: (I used to be in the business  ;)).

And another idea :)

Or the alternative version perhaps :

Same pricing and options as below but exclusive offer to those who kindly sent me pics of their cats which I included in the animation.

Cheers

Leigh

PS. What is the name of that charity that specialises in FIV cats ?. I remember it is ninelives/paws for life who re-home elderly and FiV/FelV etc. cats. I thi9nk that this would be good as Suzie is elderly and the boys are FIV+.

Well I'd like folks to PM their sizes/prefernces and I'll try and accommodate all as best as can be done.

If there was ONE utility company that I'd swap (if they didn't have a monopoly that is) then it would be them, they are useless, terribly poor service and customer service, in fact they've just been fined by OFFWAT for their poor customer relations. I bought 2 litre bottles of much nicer tasting spring water for less than they charge me per litre for tap water! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have tried to keep the cost of the T.Shirts and printing down so as to keep the charity donation as high as possible. I guess that folks will be buying them as much, if not more so for the charity donation as the actual item. I don't expect P&P to be that much but will post details ASAP.

So come on folks, dig deep, I can only sit back and hope that the idea is of interest to folks. I shall contact Tan again to see if she is in a position to suggest suitable cat charities/rescue groups to which the procedes on the T.Shirts will go and these will be named in this porting.

Cheers

Leigh

you are so going to regret starting this Leigh!  that's a pretty good amount going to charity so I'm sure people will take up the offer, are the t shirts the bog standard type - I like skinny t shirts myself so I suppose I'd have to order a smallish one

aah Thames water I remember them well, actually we never had trouble with them but southern electric don't get me started!

Okidokey, thanks Chris, I will endevour to find out about the dress thing.

On another note it is over 90 degrees in my flat yesterday and today and today I have no water at all, nice one Thames  :censored: Water. I just lugged 8L of water back from Lidls so that we've all got something to drink but it's like the Sahara in here, hot as Hades and no water in sight  ;D

Aren't cats funny?, you'd have thought that the last place that they'd want to curl up when it is so hot was on your lap but I've been Frankied four time so far today. I think he's using me as a heat exchanger, transferring all his body heat to me before jumping down. I suppose that me stroking him and ruffling his hair might let a bit of heat escape, that's all I can guess.

BTW, those interested in the T.Shirts can PM me their size. I will get the order together as soon as we have a reasonable number of orders.

Thank  for stickying this Tan hun.

Cheers

Leigh

Edit: Still no water at 4:30, thames Water finally acknowledging a burst water main is responsible and Frankie chilling out :

I'll have a black front-printed 'classic' Letterbox please, if it can be done on a dress-size garment (an XXL or XXXL T shirt).  Please let me know  ;D
