I guess I'm biased as we have a ginger girl too (and an auburn haired son!), but I do think there's something really special about gingers!!!  :Luv:

Something like 75% of gingers are male as it is a sex linked gene, and depending on the colour of dad, when females get the ginger gene they are more likely to be torties - not the right explanation I know, but the only one I can think of at this time.
Please spay your cat

I've got a ginger girl too, 'not so common' should read 'precious'  ;D

Try telling that to Flora (as in Flora and her kittens) she's a ginger girl and I'm sure she had quite a few ginger girls in her litter of 9!!!
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Pure ginger females are far less common than male gingers.

I thought the following was rather amusing . I saw it on a blog .
Diary of a ginger tom cat  http://www.diary-of-a-ginger-tom-cat.blogspot.com/

I read somewhere that ginger cats were quite uncommon and invariably female ? not sure but it may have been in one of my Tabor books I'll check it out seeing as they seem to be the most popular so far in Gill's poll

Dear God

Today I have been a paragon of virtue,
Today I have not been cantankerous, bad tempered or rude,
I have not been greedy, nasty or selfish
I have not complained, whinged or whined,
I have not stolen the left over chicken
-On the kitchen table, only lightly covered and with a whole leg...
I have resisted temptation.

But I will be getting out of my box in a moment and I will really need your help! ;D

Did ya know Churchill used to take his ginger tom to cabinet meetings and to bed every night !  (and I thought his fav pet was his dog black spot.)

Not many people know that...
