You're sure to find a furbabe or two via this sites contacts...I've just found my 3 furbabes via Lesley at Eight Lives!  :Luv2:

Keep an open mind (I took my 3 on sight unseen as it was an emergency rescue (threat of PTS) but love them with all my heart  :Luv2:)

The suggestion to get your homecheck done first is also a very good idea!

 :welcome: to Purrs.  Good luck with finding the purrfect cat for you.  If you're happy to get an adult cat that would be great.  A lot of people want kittens and therefore the older cats in rescues tend to get overlooked.  I'm sure the right cat for you is out there.  If you visit a rescue with an open mind, you may fall in love with exactly the opposite of what you thought you wanted!

Hello Cagney.  Welcome to Purrs.  You'll find loads of help and info on here, and hopefully you'll end up with just the right cat companion for you.  Whilst kittens are undoubtedly adorable, I think as Bazsmum's said, an older cat would be a good choice, and if you wanted to consider an indoor cat, there are always lots of suitable candidates.  Good luck in your search.  :)

Good Luck in your search for a kitty companion....I would personally go for an older cat living in a flat...there's loads of indoor oldies out there!  ;D

Just a quick thought. Might be best to get homechecked by whichever rescue before choosing a furbabe if you can.  It can be quite stressful having to wait for a home check if you've already given your heart to a prticular cat.

Good luck with finding your furbabe.  I'm sure you will get lots of help and advice from the wonderful folks on here.  As Christine says .... check out the local resuces on CatChat and see if there are any special furbabes on there.

If you go to http://www.catchat.org/ you will see a link to rescues in your area on the left hand side of the page.  Many of the folks involved with these rescues are members on here too  ;D

I would consider an older cat - kittens easily find homes, but at this time of year, the adults struggle a bit cos there are so many kittens.

 :thanks: Well I live in a ground floor flat but the door to our garden area is right outside my front door and it's secure apart from the gate. there are only 6 flats in the block and two of my neighbours also own cats but you never really see them.  Its not near a busy road it's fairly quiet as it's not a through road.  It's just me and hubby no children or other pets.  A warm bed and cuddles await. There is nearly always someone home too. Not sure whether to get a kitten or an older cat. A plain moggy would suit me purrrfectly.

First we need to know which area you live in and what age cat you are looking for.

We have a number of cats available to very good homes subject to homecheck on Purrs right now.

Why not tell us a bit about yourself and your family  and ask us specific questions which we will alll answer  ;D

WE also have a Looing for homes for cats and wanting to give a home to cats section so it would be best to post all the info in the Wanting to give a cat a home section undewr rescue and rehoming  ;D

Advice needed. I don't know how to go about finding the right cat. A loving experienced home awaits. Last time a brought a cat was 18 years ago as a kitten brought from a friend of a friend.
