No it is me who has taken Posy on with a secure rescue place  :)

She's a lovely girlie. She is doing very well but not had a single enquiry, bless her. She is doing great with her soft claws and no longer needs special food requirements, as we think her self trauma is stress-related.

She's really affectionate and sweet natured, but doesn't like being in a kennel bless her. A foster home would be great if not a permanent one!

Posy - Special Kitty in Need HOMED

Posy is coming to Westways for rehoming as her owner is moving abroad due to work commitments. She is 8 years old, semi longhaired, black and white. She is speyed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Post is affectionate and loves to be groomed and have her tummy tickled. She is playful and loves to chase string or ribbon. She likes to sleep under the covers of her owners bed and likes to sunbathe. Posy is used to outdoor access and likes to climb and hunt. She will toilet outdoors but is also happy to use a litter tray if confined indoors or due to bad weather.

Posy suffers from suspected food allergies and regularly causes self trauma to her neck with her claws. Once Posy comes to us we will be further investigating the cause of this problem to try and get to the bottom of it but she has been on various treatments for a long period of time and up to now the only thing that seems to keep her most comfortable is to change her food regularly. Her scratching can be prevented with the use of Soft Claws, a safe and humane cap fitted over her hind claws to prevent her tearing her skin. These are required on her hindfeet only, particularly if she were to be allowed outdoor access where she would need the use of her front claws. Her neck area is scarred from previous episodes but she is calm and patient and will allow you to bathe and care for the area.

Posy is used to teenagers and has lived with another cat. She is looking for a calm and stress free home with no children, preferably in a quiet or rural location with a dedicated owner who can manage her problems both physically and financially, since Posy will likely be more expensive than your average cat to feed with the potential of vets bills when she does have a flare up. We would prefer Posy to stay in the North and our rehoming contract and policy apply.

For more information on Posy or to make an enquiry, please contact Emma Foxall at Westways 0191 2747910 oe emma.foxall@yahoo.co.uk
