Sending love to you, your family and ALL the Bengal Boys, plus Stitch and Nova, of course.........and hope all continues well tomorrow.

Thanks everyone, Loki has eaten a little chicken tonight but his stomach is not quite ready for it yet and unfortunately he chucked it up - was surprised the vet suggested offering it to him but guess they know best.  However instead of getting upset about it I need to focus on the fact that being sick once in nearly 12 hours is a vast improvement!!!!

Vet has not really said anymore about the boys sickness other than its an gastroenteritis infection...............don't think they really know anymore than that to be honest. I'm sure he will get more antibiotics tomorrow at least.

As I said, even Lenny and Lubo are not really eating properly yet (still on small amounts of sensitivity food) and it looks like it will all just take time.  The main thing is to stop the vomiting as its this that is really making them suffer.  They have all lost a bit of weight though.

Loki is not too happy with me tonight (no cuddles for mum  :(), he out of the three truly hates the vets and the fact he has had to spend the day there has made him really grumpy.  He does not really like strangers too much unlike Lenny who would go home with anyone

Will update you all tomorrow. Thanks so much for being here for me and the boys xxx

Loki is looking a bit better tonight, having spent the day on fluids.   ;D  His blood results are also back and all is well with the exception of his white cell count which is high - this is to be expected as he is fighting infection.  He's had more antibiotics and was allowed home for the evening.  He will go back to vets first thing in the morning and if need be back on the fluids again.  More good news is that he has not been sick since lunchtime today and whilst he is refusing to eat, its such a relief!!!

He's also mobile this evening albeit poor lad is hobbling around - one of his legs is bandaged as he still has his 'line'for fluids incase it is needed again in the morning.

Lubo and Lenny are doing ok too albeit I think it will be a while before they are eating normally. Lubo even turned his nose up at a small amount of chicken tonight which he normally loves.

I feel we are turning the corner after a long long week!!!!

often it will be the case that he is receiving all the treatments at this stage they feel is appropriate and if any tests have been done the vet may not have sat down and made his diagnosis or planned the next course of action..even if the nurse has her owned informed diagnosis or knows what the vet is thinking He may have said he wants to talk to you personally.

i wouldnt worry, if there was something to really worry about they'd be phoning you !!

but fingers crossed here and lots of positive thoughts for loki.

When I went to the vets to collect Jaffa's blood test results (full senior blood panel) a few months ago I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour waiting to speak to a vet.  Neither the receptionisht nor the nurse was allowed to give me the results - I had to speak to the vet.  There wasn't anything wrong with the results but only the vet was allowed to explain them to me!  So it's perfectly normal.

I do hope he picks up though.  And poor Lenny missing his bro.

Just callled vets and spoke to vet nurse.  He is just the same were here words.  She said she cannot give me any more information over the phone without the vet being there.  They want me to go in between 3.30 and 5.
Do I need to really panic now or is this normal?

Try not to panic too much it might just be like when you ring the doctors at hospital for info and the nurses can only tell you so much. Have emailed you.

Aw, poor little babe, but as everyone else has said, he's in the best place where they can monitor him and do the relevant tests to make him better again - make sure Loki knows we're all rooting for him to get well soon, and give the others some extra headrubs from all of us too as they are missing him while he's at the vets xx

So sorry to hear the update on Loki....and apologies for my post which I had started to type while taking a telephone call....and before seeing your last.

Let's hope they sort the little guy out...bless him.

Hi Linda,

I'm really sorry to hear that the boys...well Loki at least...are not very much better.

I've just read some of the texts and my advice would be to ask the vet to keep him in for a few days.

If you have a good veterinary hospital, they will take all the tests necessary and put him on a drip....you can go and visit him in the evening...but if there is any real problem they will notice it and he will be in the best place for emergency treatment.  Obviously this sickness is more insidious than most of us realised initially.

I hope the poor little love starts to feel better real soon.

Lots of love to him

Roz
