 :( seem's there's no such thing as a perfect Vet :(

:wow:  baby seals they're lovely  :wow: and look like Cat's :Luv: and have very sharp teeth :-:

about 10 years ago I was swimming at Aberdour Beach, you know (the place with the caves n that)
the tide was full out, and while walking across the rock's, I came across a Pup :wow: trapped in a Hole
in the rocks  :( "it was so deep Pup couldn't get out" I Was going to try and free it somehow (It Looked so adorable :Luv: :Luv:)
I was going to lift it out, and bent down close :Luv: then this little Pup came out with a Ggrrowl!!!  :-: that would frighten
any dog let alone a Human, I absolutely understood the posture of Pup and Noises it was making, and took
them as a Warning ( Stay The  :censored: Away From Me, OK !! >:( ) I made a hasty retreat and
Later watched as the tide came in, the Hole Filled up with water and The Wee Pup was Free ;D then saw
it's mother come and meet it then they disappeared  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

What are the chances of seeing that again ?? 1000.000 - 1 ??

Lawrence is an older guy and the sole owner, he has obviously vets working for him so you'd know if it was him or not.

The newer vets will prob be fine but I personally have issues with brain.

Having said that he's apparently great with horses and wildlife (ive seen baby seals at his place  :Luv:  - not in a work capacity but the playgroup had their outing there a couple of years ago when my son attended  :evillaugh:  )

LOL , not sure whom I saw?? and the introduction was only " This is Misty!! "
It was A young girl I saw today, small, blonde kinda hair??

was also thinking of trying the vet's in Mintlaw, but I spoke to a couple of people and they gave me
some bad report's i.e. more interested in the money side of thing's and a friend of mine who's cat
had kitten's went to them with the queen cause she was poorly after giving birth, stayed for 2 night's
and when she came home she had ended up with the m.r.s.a. bug ?? she was the one who offered
me 2 year old "suzie" one of her persians :wow: but I declined just incase she upset Misty, and I only
want to concentrate on my old manie justnow!!..... although, I have wondered recently if it might be
a good idea cause misty used to play with Hamish all the time ;D But now Hamish is not here :( He seem's
to be less active, and sleep's a lot more :(
But deep down, I  really don't think it would be a great idea, cause Misty's over 16 and Suzie's only 2 :(

it would be like a 24 yr old girl hanging about with an 80 yr old mannie :evillaugh:

Thanks Gillian, Trying to keep Positive :shy:

Hi Lynn, I am Now with Fairview Vet's in New Deer ;) and I was glad they told me they'd have to get Misty's records
from the other vet's so now they will know I have changed vet's & wont Be Back  >:( Did I tell you I found the bill reciept
for Hamish's urine infection and Blood's which were taken LAST YEAR!! and they said the only record for Hamish's Blood's they had was for 2001 >:( >:( >:(

yes I did think there might be some evaporation from the Drinkwell, but wasn't sure??
I was wondering if treatment would reduce ? or just stabilize ? So it is Reassuring to hear you say that...well, keeping
my finger's crossed anyway :)
Have to take Misty back to New Deer next thursday to get more blood taken for Aberdeen place, just hope I dont
get a phone from my work in the meantime :(

Thank you all again for your responses and support  :Luv:

Stuart hi, what vets you seeing now ?

Without the normal ref ranges as has been mentioned its pretty hard to say but the urea and creat dont look terrible and i'd expect with treatment and diet change that they should come down some what.  To me they indicate mild / early stages crf but normally with those levels the prot & globs arent always affected so perhaps a certain degree of dehydration was involved ?  (remember some of the water in the fountain will evaporate so not all you refill is that amount being drank)

Sac (craibstone) are pretty quick getting results back so fingers crossed everything else is ok

Hi Stu, dont understand the readings but hope that Misty is okay.

Felix - be careful with the Natures Menus with Simbas problem - when I tried my Benglies on NM they both got really bad tummies.

Hi Gillian, Vet asked was he drinking more?? and keep track of how much He is drinking!, I said I dont think He's
Drinking more and it's hard to keep track of how much he's drinking cause I bought a Drinkwell for him, I top it
up usually every 2 to 3 days with about 250-400ml of water
I know what you mean by different labs have different "Normal reading's" as my new Vet's normal range is different
from my old one's, Hamish's crea was 923  :(

Milly's Mum / Caroline thanks for the tip on vet uk, I did look at that site when Hamish's trouble's started
my OH fed Misty the rest of Renal food, when Hamish stopped eating :(
And He loved it, Just Hope he will still scoff it now ;)

P.S. Gillian, did you get my e-mail yesterday ??

Hi Mark Misty has been eating His Senior food " now ", the little sod was just licking the gravy B4 but I now Mush it all
down with a fork and that's sorted that out he eats it all ;)

P.S. apart from the blood's she said misty had a strong heart and He weighed in at 5.4 kg's

No harm in trying so renal food - If he won't eat it, phosphorus levels in  senior food is midway between renal & regular food so a good compromise. A lot of people say dry renal food isn't good as you are trying to hydrate. Bearing in mind wet food is around 80% water, best to feed wet if possible.

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Vet uk are currently offering free P+P on all food orders   ;D

Renal food is great if they like to eat it.
I think its better for a cat to have the food it wants with a shorter life but happy than a longer one where every day is grind. We all know how much cats love their food!

You could PM Lynn for info if she doesnt see this

Misty has been his normal self
Urea                     14.4
creatinine             259
Protein                 103
Globulin                 78

My New vet say's "going by the reading's" Misty is dehydrated and She's told me to put Him on Renal Food :(
And Because the reading's are slightly Higher than Normal, want's to do Full Blood's and send them through
to Aberdeen for a full analysis to find out what exactly is causing the Protein and Globulin to be slightly raised ??

I think protein and globulin are usually high when creatine and urea are raised - they certainly were with both Suzie, and now with Jasper. I may be wrong, but you can check on the http://felinecrf.org/ site - which I'm sure your'e already familiar with.

What is your vet going to do about Misty being dehydrated? think that would need to be addressed, as in fluids at the surgery IV - or perhaps SubQs at home? When you get the full results you will see the 'normal' ranges beside the readings, for instance Suzie's initial reading for creatinine was 359 with the normal range being between 80-180 - but different labs have different 'normal' ranges.
