Introductions usually need to be done very slowly and sounds like your two do not like these over confident intruders into their space.

Its for this reason you need to introduce slowly and make sure that your twos noses dont get put out.

well my flick knows the upstairs cats are gettin wet meat so did a runner up there yesterday and came face to face with piggy and marmalade, they wasnt bothered but flick had a good hiss and then bolted back down stairs!
Last night piggy and marmalade were sat at lounge door meowing so i let them in, they just wanted to have a sniff about the place, wasnt fased by flick or china even tho they was both hissin and growling at them....i think its my two im gonna ave the problems with not my newbies, do u think flick and china will just get used to them and that will be that? piggy and marmalade just wanna be down here all the time but i darent leave them alone together yet x

You could try putting ne of the newbies in a cat box and bringing them in to your cats domain for them to have a good sniff at

I sometimes use the spare dog crate and pop the newbie in to it and bring them in to the lounge and they can see the others and vice versa

Also try stroking them with a towel and swap scents

Am so glad we have a lovely 12 pane glass door where our newbies start life so they can see the others as they are curious and the main grit box room a.k.a the downstairs study is on this corridor so by the time we come to do all the mixing they will have seen most of the cats at some point

Is there a way you can allow them to see each other without actually meeting? That would be a good next step.
