Well phoned my brother up that lives in the Birmingham area and he said he had been thinking of getting away for xmas but when he checked his cattery where he puts his cats that they had been booked up for over 3 months and was beginning to get problems as because of weather and cancelled flights they were having cats not being picked up on time so the owner was actually using rooms in her house to accommodate the extras because of weather.

That is my absolute last resort plan, as I have my 3 and the dog with no idea how they will all get on. One of my girls is extremely sensitive and gets stressed easily which makes her wee on the dogs bed. She has been ok over the past couple of months thanks to kalm aid, feliway and extra litter trays. These extra trays are in my spare room which is the only room I would be able to keep cleo in but can't really cos I have to have those extra trays. See my dilemma...

This I why I couldn't take her myself, temp or perm.

Plus the semi feral kittens have full run of the shed now so she couldn't go in there either.

I'm just up to my limit in cats lol!!

Last resort suggestion here Steff but would you not be willing as a once off to take care of the little one whilst your friends are away if all else fails.

Is just a suggestion if they can not get a cattery space or pet sitter and do mean as a last resort that you suggest the above such as 11th hour idea.

I'll check but probably if they can get cattery space.

I know none of this is ideal but I was put under a lot of pressure by the owner to have her rehomed and I'm just grateful my friends could take her...otherwise I have no idea where she would have ended up :(

Would they consider a pet sitter?

I will do

Am hoping there may be spaces due to flight cancellations and people not being able to get away.

Unfortunately it was all very last minute...they didn't want to take her until after Christmas.

I would be very wary of any cattery that had spaces at this late stage.  Most good catteries are booked up for xmas months in advance and usually have a waiting list for any cancellations.  Advise your friends to be very careful of anywhere that has spaces and not be afraid to ask why.

I'm not in Birmingham. However, I think it is highly unlikely your friend is going to be able to find a cattery space over Christmas. Most kennels/catteries are booked up months in advance, Christmas is a very, very busy time of the year.

I've worked in 2 kennels/catteries and we never had any space free over Christmas and New Year. It's the same throughout the country.

I do wish her luck.

lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

My friends rehomed the beautiful bengal Cleo this weekend. Not the best time of year but we had little choice because the owner was moving!! They will be away for a few days over Christmas and will need to put Cleo in a cattery together with their house rabbit Jess. If anyone could recommend a place that could take both Cleo and Jess that would be really handy. They are in the B1 area so as close to that as possible would be handy.

Thanks in advance :)
