Feliway is good. Sorted a lot of preoblems im ny house. You can get them from Vet Uk and Bestpet Pharmancy and other places. Best getting them on line as cheaper than vets and places like pets at home,  You need to get the diffuser first time and then after that just refils if you need them. I get mist stuff like that from Bestpet Pharmacy but there is loads of places goor to shop about. On bestpet its £20.79 for the diffuser and one refill. After that the refils on there own are about £15, one lasts about a month
If you do try it make sure you get the one with the plug in diffuser first not just a refil

Thank you both for the advice  Rosie is mainly in our room, so Sadie has full use of the house, it's only when Rosie goes near her to play , that she hisses and growls.
Rosie isn't phased by any of this and tries to get as close to Sadie as she can  I have been giving a lot more attention to Sadie when they are in the same room too.
I think I will have to be more patient.
I've never heard of the feli-way plug-in before, I'll look it up :)

Thanks again :)

Get a Feliway plug-in as your first port of call to help calm things down. Make sure not to give all your attention to the new kitten. Make sure Sadie has plenty of places she can go and chill out away from the new kitten. Also, I'd maybe pop Rosie in a room and shut the door occasioanlly to allow Sadie time to relax in her own territory again.

Some cats will just never get on with others and you have to remember bringing this lively young attention seeker into her home is going to be a major upset!

This situation sound very much like the one with my mum and dad's kitties, Saffie is the old cat and Yookee is the new boy! Saffie hisses, growls and swipes at Yookee, but only when Yookee tries to play with her! She's also taken to not coming in the house when he is in. Saffie has never been friendly with other cats, but learned to tolerate Lacie after about a year or so. Don't give up hope, it might just take a little time! x

We have had Rosie for nearly 4 weeks now and our Queen cat Sadie  has taken the huff and does her best to keep out of Rosie's way
She hisses and growls at her and has pawed out a few times. Sadie also always wants to go out if she sees Rosie.
I understand that some cats will just learn to tolerate a new cat in the house and do it's own thing, but when will the hissing and alien noises stop? Could it take months? Am I hoping for things to progress too quickly? Sadie was here before I arrived so I'm use to her but Rosie is my 1st kitty and I'm still learning so please bear with me when I ask silly questions :-[ :-[ :-[
All my kids have fur and tails :) x
