That's the one! Heather brings him into the house when she's at home!

This is the link to the thread (hopefully!) or if not, it's at the top of this section anyway, if you want to read! (Mikey's rescue and wheelchair fund)

I wasn't aware of Mikey's story but now you mention it, I think I saw some video footage on youtube (posted by JackSpratt on Facebook). He was playing with a fishing rod type toy? Had a nappy on?

He is ADORABLE!!   :Luv: :Luv:

I'm absolutely outraged by the thugs that did that to such a lovely cat  :censored: :censored: :censored: >:( >:( >:(

So so pleased it's not affected his character and that he's happy and living life to the best of his abilities x

I spend a bit of time with Mikey (assume you know his story?) and he's such a happy little boy, too! He can't even stand up, drags his legs behind him and is doubly incontinent, all because of some yobbo!  >:( >:( Despite this he's had a great life with Heather, his fosterer-she has worked wonders with him over the last 6 months and he's going to his new home in Scotland on Saturday........

Max is gorgeous, lovely colouring and i hope he goes from strength to strength  :Luv2: :Luv2:

Thanks Shirley, I will most certainly pass on your best wishes! They are very touched that people care so much.

I'm just so amazed that he's attempting to walk and can't believe that only a few months ago, we all thought he would have to be pts  :'(

He's so determined and I think he could teach us humans a thing or two about never giving up when the going gets tough  ;)

First time I've read Max's post.  Am - like everyone - disgusted to learn of his injury.     I also had a cat who was shot by a thug who thought it was great fun to take a pot shot at a loving and trusting soul whose aim in life was just to be happy, and to spread that happiness around - very like Mikey.  However, I'm very pleased to see that Max appears to be beating the odds and making progress on the road to recovery.   He's a beautiful boy.  Another one with a smiley face.  :Luv:

Saw Max today and he is doing so well! He's still very wobbly on his back legs and keeps weeing in places he shouldn't but apart from that, his recovery is going from strength to strength  ;D

Here are some pics  :Luv:

It makes me sick  to think anyone could be that cruel to a defenseless creature. The amount of idiots that added ridiculous comments on the Evening Post website regarding this story, just made my blood boil.

Anyhoo, I can't sleep so thought I'd post some pics of him (before the accident). He's such a handsome boy. Hardly speaks but his body language speaks volumes!! He's a VERY affectionate puddy tat. When he used to lie on the back of the sofa and we'd stroke him, he'd be in that much ecstacy that he'd fall off!!

I hadn't seen this story but hooray for Max!!!

There was a similar situation on Purrs with a cat called Mikey...he hasn't been quite as lucky as Max in the fact that he has not regained the use of his back legs but he is currently being cared for by an amazing lady called Heather.

Mikey is also an amazing and handsome boy.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to post a link to his thread cos I can't do it from my phone!!

Its awful what the horrid people did to these cats but amazing how they are still able to have a wonderful life and can still love the good humans :)

Some of you might have seen this story in the evening post or online. My boyfriend's parents have a gorgeous grey and white cat called Max (or as we like to call him - Maxibon)

He's 5yrs old and was very cruely shot at with an air rifle. The vet thought he wasn't going to survive because Max had lost all use from the neck down.

£2000, lots of TLC and about 5/6 weeks later, Max has stood on his own 4 paws! He's controlling his bladder and bowels and seems to be making a miraculous recovery!

The nasty excuse for human life that did this to poor Max has still not been caught, but hopefully they will get their comeuppance!  >:(

The moral of this story is NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! :) :Luv2:
