No Mark, they came from my vets. (Who charged me £17 for the tablets, some eye drops and a consultation....sometimes my vets are great.)

I'm not sure how me tasting them will help matters really. ;) She's not really a fan of Webbox, Janey and to be honest you'd need a pretty big chunk to hide it in!

mmm, the thyroid one is small and that is even a problem in Webbox and can't break them.  I have had good results giving tablets when cats are asleep - suddenly just popping one in and they don't notice but Pep has got some big fangs and I'm not risking that  :scared:

Can you not taste bitter, sweet etc?  :evillaugh: ;)

It is rhubarb root so possibly a bit sour?

I read that it is Chinese medicine. There is a another chinese treament for CRF. In fact there is a whole site selling Chinese medicine for pets. http://www.petherbs.co.uk/inrenalfailure.html

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Are they ok to crush?  I was thinking you could crush them and mix them into butter or soft cheese? I try most things, I reckon if I find it truly offensive most likely the cats will too, so forewarned to disguise it in something  :evillaugh:

JS does she like Webbox or prawns? they are good for sticking tablets in, I am having a bit of trouble with Pepper and his thyroid tablet.   So far I am just trying to stuff them in his meat chunks but the little butter spits it out however I do manage it eventually - I have tasted those because I used to take carbimazole myself and if one got stuck they are very bitter so I think he tastes or smells it and avoids that mouthful  :sneaky:

I have some of those - My vet hasn't even heard of them  :tired: - did you get them from VetUK as they aren't POM. I think they are probably palatable as they are only a neutraceutical. You could do what Gillian  I do - have a taste  :evillaugh: - I have tried fortekor and all kinds  :evillaugh:

Yet another "older cat" related question.....

Rubenal tablets are huge and Mog has been prescribed them for her slight kidney deterioration. I've been giving her them less than a week, but she hates it. the vet told me it was purely up to me if I wanted to give her the tablets or not, and to be honest if I can't find a way that doesn't stress her out I'm not going to continue. She's 20 next year, and her body is going to start displaying problems at some point.

If anyone can offer me any advice on how to give her the tablets in a way that won't upset her I'd be grateful.
