It sounds like eating too quickly is the problem and making themselves sick - not necessarily something that will go away with dry food.  In fact, it can be worse with dry food because it expands in the stomach.  So they eat until full and then it expands in the stomach and makes them sick.  I would try smaller meals and/or measures to slow down the eating (eg ping pong ball in the food bowl).  I would guess your adult cat is getting fat on the kitten dry.  At 6 and 7 months they are old enough for adult food really, so you could try switching the kitten dry to adult dry.  I personally don't leave dry food down.  I know that can be convenient as it allows them to graze between meals - and some cats do well on that - but in multi cat households there's often one that will scoff all the dry food and become overweight.

Are the kittens eating kitten soft food or adult soft food?

How old are the kittens? I'd also give them more, but in smaller, more frequent, meals,  like Dawn suggested. I wouldnt feed a dry diet only.

I too wouldn't feed an all dry diet.

Milo used to gobble his food down, we now feed half a pouch at a time, this works much better. Cats have small stomachs  :)

There's a large body of opinion on here - which includes me  ;) - that a predominantly wet diet is better to ensure an adequate fluid intake.  Your idea of portion control may be a better way to go, Millies Mum.

I could try putting half a pouch each down at least that way there's not much to wolf down or bring back up :thanks:

I don't like dry only diets myself - is there anyway you could give them more but smaller meals?  Iams has a bit of a bad reputation with some although I haven't ever used it personally

Should i change from wet food to dry food

I have 2 kittens and 1 adult cat and currently feed them on whiska's/felix pouches. They have 2 pouches each per day and there is always dry kitten food down as well but the kittens are eating the wet food too quickly and are often making themselves sick and the adult cat has put a lot of weight on as she will tend to finish off what ever is left.So i was thinking of changing them all onto Iams dry cat food hopefully this will stop them from gauging themselves on wet food.

Has anybody had this problem before or any suggestions please  :thanks:
