It took about a week for the soot to come off completely (on white sheets mainly  :evillaugh: ) - there is a little hatch that is now closed......just to be sure  :evillaugh:

Clapton is everything averse. We even runs from us at times. I have to take my shoes off when I feed him in the hall as even shoes on a hard floor frighten the life out of him  :( - We have no idea what he had been through when he was rescued but he was a mental and physical wreck. He was covered in sores. The vet said it was allergic dermatitis. Any little thing upsets him. If we have workmen downstairs, he still hides under the bed upstairs  :(

If your vet will do it and you are prepared to pay for the additional service, i don't see any reason not to. Particularly if Clapton is car-averse....

OH thinks it would be best. Clapton is due bloods but I really can't see the point as long as he is well in himself. A vet trip will set him back so not a good idea.

Yes, my vet will come out and do vacs. She charges for it of course! I don't have mine done annually now, but last time I had them done she came out and did them all in one home visit. Better for me, than traipsing back and forth to the surgery with a couple at a time.  :)

I don't think their callout fee is that high - I will check. It's really annoying as there is a vet right next door to me but I fell out with the owner over lack of sound proofing. They have had it put in now but the whole thing is a bit uncomfortable. One of the other partners said so me not to be worried about bringing any of the cats in if I need to. I happen to know that there is nobody there overnight and they don't even leave a light on so I wouldn't want my cats to be seen there unless in an emergency. My vet is staffed 24hrs and even open for 2 hours for consultations on Sundays. They are the only vet in the area that doesn't use Vets Now.

Post-op, I will be housebound basically so hopefully they will come over. If they won't, there is another mobile vet but I'm not sure about using her as she wanted to give Kylie sedatives for removing a fur clump. She was also happy to give her an "upper" injection afterwards  :scared:

our vets will only do housecalls for routine work (vaccs/claws/mot's) if there is a very good reason (disabled/infirm owners) but they still expect you to just send a reletive or friend if possible. There is also a £80 callout fee (£50 if for emergancy care)

so it really depends on your vet, if he will do it for a sensible price then it does make sense

2 weeks ago, I booked Alice & Kylie in for their vacs on 15th December - I can't do it earlier because of exams on 11th and my op on the 12th - I was told the other day that I can't do anything strenuous for 6 weeks after. Also, I can't drive for 2 weeks (a week at least) - I was thinking it would make more sense to have all the cats dome at the same time at home - it will mean Clapton and Willow being done a couple of weeks early but would be better all round. I will save me 2 x 10 mile round trips and save Alice and Clapton a lot of stress. I'm sure vet will do vacs at home?

I know our vets do prearranged outcalls so maybe worth doing?
