This is wonderful news, so glad there were happy endings. Sadly, I dont think our money went on anything special, just the high vet bill!!

Roz it was actually the funds from the Cat Show, together with the funds that were already in the rescue fund that were split up amongst various rescues. Buster's fund is separate for when a special case comes about in rescue.

Sharon really pleased to read the outcomes of the story for both these two.  :Luv:

That's great to hear Sharon.  I assume you're referring to the money we donated to Buster's Memorial Fund?  Tan told me that Canterbury had been helped a little from it. I'm sure dear Buster had something to do with the good news. :Luv:

I hope these two babes continue to prosper and become well again in their new homes.

I wish all the endings were so fortunate.

Well done to you all (and to Buster)

Lots of love

Just an update on these two cats..
Florin the one with suspected thyroid condition happily found a home with the fosterer who was taking care of her.. Her Nan took her on the last i heard she had found her way into the kiddies bedroom and was sleeping the the kiddies... Happy ending there then.

The black puss called Jemina was claimed by the lady that found her and took her to the vets and although she had a whole heap of health issues, we had her in our care for a week and they decided to take her on with all her issues.. This poor mite was deaf as well but is safely now being cared for by a family that money didnt really come into it..

Both cats were skin and bone, but in only a few weeks are now filling out abit.

What a lovely warm glow to know that Purrs has helped these very deserving cats to a little extra comfort. Hope you manage to find some homes Sharon.

Glad to hear that the money has gone to good use Sharon, and I hope everything goes well for these two. What a shame you have so many unhomeables though, I do hope rehoming goes well for you - I know the nightmare of fosterers being away, we will be in that position in 3 weeks.

Poor Florin is indeed a very lucky puss, i doubt she would of survived, i think she only weigh just over 2kg... (2 bags of sugar like)).. She will be a long term resident. The other puss Jemina was found under a hedge but she has an infection going on as well and is on tablets, however, her age is against her. If cats get better on the tablets and are fit enough to have the op we go for that as it allows them to be rehomed much easier (no tablets then needed).. having one with this condition in our care is a long term project but two is kind of overloading us..

Sadly today we have had to say we cannot ake anymore cats in and will be diverting them to other branches or CP HQ, as out of 20 cats or so we are only able to rehome 4 or so (plus kittens) due to others having ongoing vet treatment.. We also have loads of fosterers away next month as well and are already bursting so no where to put cats when they go, we just hope we can rehome a few by then..

In the last few months we have had our fair share of poorly cats, having just rehomed Charlie our diabetic puss cat, we now have a few that are cruelty cases and at the moment not up for rehoming..

Floriin and jemina probaly have topped us over the edge of available juggling space and both are now going to need long term care.

Great that they are being used straight away  :Luv2:

I got Alice one at the same time. She has 4 different beds on a kingsize bed to choose from including a big fluffy dog bed - but when I went up this morning, she was fast asleep on her flectabed so they really do work. I felt it when she jumped down for her breakfast and it was really warm  :) - I don't think she was as wobbly either  :evillaugh:

I am very sorry to hear about the condition that these two are in, but delighted to know that they are in your care now, Sharon.  Its great to know that money raised through Purrs has a direct and immediate effect on the lives of such needy little ones

Just a note to say thanks to the Purrs donation we went out and brought four flectabeds (non electric, rely on body heat).. And they are now being used for two very poorly puss cats. Florrin an 8yr (sort of) puss cat that has the honour of being the thinnest puss i have ever seen.

Suspected of being hyperthyroid she is on tablets to see if we can improve her condition, she eats and eats and eats and although very poorly seems bright and alert when you give her a chin rub.. Florin is a dark tabby and was nearly another RTA until a member of the public avoided her on a busy rural road, went to see how she way and discovered her condition. Lets hope we can get her off those tablets and onto the road to recovery..

Also we  have Jemina another puss cat with suspected hyperthyroidism, this time she is about 15 though.. dumped...

Both are benefiting from a warm bed and food and they both thank you very much
