is this a new behaviour? you said in an earlier post that he releases little bear when he cries out ...

If it is more of the same, just stay calm, it really is quite normal. If it is an increase into actual aggressive behaviour then you may need to consider separating them (and buying ear plugs).

Deep breaths Sweet-rose, you are doing fine ...

Sounds like they are getting on well, to me.  :sneaky:

Obviously you don't want to encourage them to play fight, but this is normal behaviour and how they sort out the pecking order between themselves, as BC says.  :) Kittens are raised in a group situation and it's what they feel most comfortable with. This is one reason why we encourage people to adopt 2 kittens rather than 1 as they love the companionship and if they didn't have each other, they'd have to 'assert' themselves over your furniture.  :evillaugh:

If ozzy releases the kitten once it cries out he is just asserting himself, so not agression as such. He is just telling the kitten who is in charge. Kittens take a lot of discouraging, so if he is still having a go, then he is just being cheeky. Having said that, I would not leave them together unsupervised. But otherwise would just let them get on with it.

Hi just an update

it seems that the little bear (now 6 wks old) is the one that goes after Ozzy (now 13 wk old) however with little bear being so small i worry he is going to get really hurt ? ! the little one cries out when he has had enough!
can't find a cat pen ?
it is'nt as bad and little bear has only been with us a week so will it get better ?
they are crazy at night time...really wearing me down, i'm off for another 3 weeks will they be ok then ?
thanks in advance

With a dog pen, it's likely he will get out, I've had kittens in normal size dog pens and they do squeeze through the gaps.  A kitten pen he won't get out of  ;)

I often see them on ebay - I think a large dog crate would be just as good as long as the holes in the mesh aren't too small.  You can put it back on ebay when they're firm friends  :)

I would purchase a kitten pen to keep Bear in and this will allow Ozzy to get used to him.  He will mainly be playing with him but also exerting his dominance.  I remember when my Sooty was little, Dylan was a buggar with him and beat hell out of him but in his way he was playing, after a few days he was extremely loving with him but he still had to be supervised until Sooty could fight his corner, they ended up the best of friends.  I wouldn't leave Ozzy and Bear unattended, you can make the kitten pen comfortable with a bed, toys, food, litter tray etc and you know he'll be safe from harm when you're not with them.  Good luck and I'm sure Ozzy will settle down

Hope someone whose been in the same boat can give you some advise, my two were brothers so didn't have to go through any of this. Might be worth changing the title to something like 'Aggression between new kittens - pls help', you just edit your first post to do that.  If you do want it changed but are not sure how to then I can do it for you  :)

I would keep them apart till Bear gets a bit bigger and can defend himself. My Harry used to do this with the kitten, he was relentless and it does get very tiring  :shy:
