There is someone on CatChat looking to rehome 2 cats they are in Portsmouth, is that any good? May be a good idea if they posted here. Not sure about my geography but they seem to be prepared to travel.
Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....

I think this is so sad and people who organize hoousing and stuff should understand that cats are part of a family and give comfort and these owners for certain need comfort.  :'(

That is nice of their owners, although it is hard to know what to say to them, I have spoken to my fosters owners (the ones that came in due to her having liver cancer), it made her day to know that they had gone to good homes though, just Moses to home.

Aww, i am glad they are safe, it is awful when you have to take cats in due to illness, it must be so awful for the owner, as they love them and want to keep them, but cant.

Well thanks to Jasmine, chris and Purrs I am going to deliver the cat to leamington tomorrow.
I have made space here now to take them but was worried about a young tortie stray who I am anxious to get in in case she is fertile.
However, funny how things turn out and you'll have to read the new thread!

Again thankyou everyone, these cats will now be safe and the owners are relieved and can concentrate on more important things (or and another thread to read!).

 :thanks:

Angie, I have just had an email from Chris, Mid-Warks CP, they may be able to help!
Please can you contact her direct on the helpline, or email(might be quicker option).

I've also just heard someone was home-checked yesterday & is interested in Jess, so very excited!

Wish I could help but the only couple I know in Coventry aren't ready for cats.

(they've gutted the house and are slowly fixing it).

Hope you're able to find these beauties a place.

I think you're doing exactly the right thing in making these puds a priority. How can the poor man go to his grave in peace worrying about the fate of his beloved cats?  :'( :'(

I'm sorry I can't help, but have a big hug from Canterbury.   :)

Oh, that's awful, so, so sad, I really wish I could help Angie, but I still have Jess who hasn't integrated with mine and 7 months on no interest on the rehoming front...

I'll email the details to our branch co-ordinator though, I think they help Coventry CP quite a bit, but they probably have a huge waiting list like everyone else  :scared:

Oh thats so sad, I really don't understand why sheltered accommodation have this policy so long as their indoor pets they shouldn't pose a risk to anyone. The couple are going through enough as it is and these cats would have provided some sort of commfort to both of them, absolutely heartbreaking :'( Good on you for taking them on, hope you can find a home soon.

What a sad story - I so hope these three can stay together - there must be someone who can take them.

So sad for the owners   :'(

Covcats - home (or even foster home!) needed for 3 cats
« Reply #1 on: March 13, 2008, 16:59:47 PM »
These 3 cats are very much loved and I am doing my hardest to get them into the group.
Not sure how at this stage - either by moving the two adults I have to the local cattery and having these three here or V/V i either way expensive but never mind!

They need to come in essentially because the husband is dying of bone cancer and the couple are going into sheltered accomodation. Despite telling the place they had 3 cats and not hearing anything more , they have now been told the cats cannot go with them.

The wife is trying to cope with caring for her husband without help, orgsinising the move and other things and they are both very upset about having to part with the cats.

CP told them that, sadly , their (CP) priority was with the abandoned cats that were physically in danger and though they had sympathy for the couples plight could not help.

I AM going to help. Its true that homeless animals come first but sometimes you have to consider the owners - as usual its the ones that care enough that seem to be at the bottom of the list.

Anyway, to the cats. Snowy female (8) , Blackie  female (7) and Tigger male (5) - all taken in by the couple when they were abandoned over the years.
Anyone in and around Coventry who can offer these three beautiful cats a home - either permanent or as a fosterer?? They are all vaccinated and treated with the 6 month flea jab.
