Leo always has a poohy bum ! He knows how to clean it but he has a very fluffy bum so when he is cleaning the hair flips over & covers his bum so it doesnt really work bless him ! I have to wait untill he is asleep to clean it ! (Also cut his claws & groom him !!)

Bertie suffers from this occasionally but it's not a worry to him - he just wipes his bum on the kitchen floor  >:(

Technique does tend to get better as they get older.  Mosi had a few messy bums when he was little but seems to have perfected it now  ;D

Glad to hear mine aren't the only ones who do the poo dance, bc!

oh you described that so well, rollins :rofl: :rofl: Smidgen is very pleased with himself whenever he does a poo - runs through the house with his tail in the air looking terrible clever and sharing the residual odour with all. Such a sharing, caring kitty :Luv:

Hi there, thanks for the replies

I'm not sure how exactly they are getting dirty bums, as their poo is solid.  I think its a matter of technique, and being as they are both 9 weeks old on Sunday, they haven't quite got the "mechanics" of it all down yet.  They are both short hair kittens, and I think that its just that they haven't cracked the whole angle tail, squeeze, shut and then clean.

I'm just giving thema  wee helping hand until it clicks.

ha ha!  I don't have to use them too often but have had to when Star had a dodgy tum, not nice but necessary as she sleeps on our bed!!

same here.  Although Mosi rarely needs them now.  How are they getting their bums dirty?  Do they have runny poos or do they get the firm poo tangled in their fur?  Mosi has quite a comical action when he does a poo.  He is extrememly upright and quite a way from the litter so that what he produces drops nicely into the litter without touching his long fur!  ;D

Yep, I'm back with another poop question :D

Just a quick one - it seems that Smokey and Smudge still haven't quite worked out how to keep their bums clean, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if wetwipes, or similar products would be suitable for the cats?  I was wanting to use something a little bit softer and kinder to their skin than say, wet kitchen paper.
