Lisa Sarah is offline just now due to having moved house but Charlie settled in really well and he's adorable  :)  I'm sure she will be more than happy to post some updated pics when she gets back online again  ;)

Ahhhh he's lovely ... you are lucky.

With regards to the journey it might be an idea to get some vetbed stuff (I think that's what it is called) which you can put at the bottom of the carrier just in case little one has any accidents on the way home ... put a layer of newspaper under the vetbed.    I'm sure as he is young he will just sleep for most of the journey home.

40miles isnt far and at that age you could have him out of the carrier on someones lap, he will prob sleep most of the way.

The journey is 5 1/2 hours Michelle  :evillaugh:

Sarah said previously the longest was 40 miles  :evillaugh: (sorry)

Hahahaaha 180 miles actually

Helen-I asked the women about the towel and she agreed that it would be a good idea :)
LittleBobo-I was thinking about getting a bigger carrier, even a cage one? I only have standard size ones, I just want the little one to be ok, he'll be terrified enough :(

When we had to transport our first girl Snarf she was a kitten and it was almost a 3 hour journey...

We had a big dog carrier type thing, which we kept for doing introductions to other cats as well..we had a jumper and towels in it and toys..she was very good and only meowed towards the end and she didn't even go to the toilet which we thought was a definite !
Fuss me Fuss me ..Come on I have things to do like Eating and sleeping !

Lucky you  ;D  He's gorgeous  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Could you ask the person who is looking after them to put an old towel in their bed for the last few days before you pick him up.  Then you can take the towel home with you with all it's comforting smells.

Yes Desley, I might consider getting a bigger carrier then, it's just I don't want him to be terrified, locked in a box for hours, not able to see the light of day, but maybe the carrier cages would be better, that way he would see me at least..

He is gorgeous!! Woudl'nt have said half Maine Coon though, but it might be more obvious when he is bigger. Please dont have him on your knee rather than in a carrier though, it is incredibly dangerous, esp at that age when they can be quick, and the fact he might not know you enough to come out from under the seat etc for you. If you wanted something more roomer than the normal carrier, you could try geting one of the larger dog cages and putting him in that. Vets wont normally give tranquilisers without seeing the cat, and there are risks so not somethign I woudl recommend either.
Please spay your cat

Tilly's my little Tortie  :Luv:
Think I'll take some pictures of them today, if I can find batteries for my cam   :sneaky:

I really didn't know what to name him, everyone was saying Tiny, because then it would be Tilly, Tom and Tiny, but he'll be the biggest eventually hahaha.
Then I seen him, and I just knew he was a wee Charlie hehehe

When I moved to kent, the vet advised tranquilisers but I'm sure you can't give them to a kitten and I wouldn't advise them for a cat either.

No I wouldn't give him tranquilisers, I think just making him feel comfortable and the worn jumpers a great idea, I'll defo do that!
Susanne, I can't wait till he gets big  :Luv: I have a thing for big kittys hahaha. Poor Mosi on his lonnnnnng journey haha.
Michelle, my OH is driving so I might just sit in the back with him on my lap, that might make him feel less frghtened.

I can't wait to get him, I love the whole kitten routine, training him and stuff  ;D
Wondering how Tilly and Tom will react, I said to Tilly, are you excited to meet your new brother? And she cocked her wee head to the side hahaha.
Think she may mother him a bit to start, she especially loves putting my socks in her mouth and running under the bed with them hahaha.

Exciting stuff :D

Aah!  Congrats on your new kitty.  If he's half maine coon he won't be small for long!

My recommendation for the journey?  Get some ear plugs!  ;D  I had a 21/2 hour journey home with Mosi and he screamed all the way home.

He's gorgeous - you lucky thing   :Luv:

When I moved to kent, the vet advised tranquilisers but I'm sure you can't give them to a kitten and I wouldn't advise them for a cat either. I would guess a kitten is easier to transport than a cat as they are still getting used to new things unlike an adult that's set in it's ways. - I guess feliway would help. Also a worn jumper or t-shirt in the carrier for comfort.

The OH has finally agreed to let me adopt a new kitty :) He's half maine coon, absolutely gorgeous.
I've named him Charlie, we get him in a couple of weeks when he's old enough to leave.
It's funny, he'll look tiny compared to Tilly and Tom haha.
I'll let you all know how he is when he arrives, he'll probably be exhausted as it's a 5 and a half hour journey

Any advice on travelling anyone? I've never taken either of mines by car for more than 40 minutes..
Anyways, here's a picture of the little one  :Luv:
