his position was that all his cats had been healthy. Presumably he failed to notice the weeping abscesses and such like and considered that when they died, or disappeared at age 8 that that was 'just nature innit?'. I could not remember the statistic of how many kittens are put to sleep each year, which may have had some impact as he was clearly fond of kittens, and unfortunately I am sufficiently obsessed with accuracy that I was not able to bring myself to pluck a large figure out of the air. It really was quite upsetting, especially as Smidgen is such a wee cuty and will be done ASAP, along with his microchipping...

These types are so annoying, I expect you managed to get in about FIV, FeLV and testicular cancer etc and I expect it went in one ear and out of the other. In these situations I usually say would you please just let me send you the reasons why it is your cats interest to neuter/spay. Surprisingly most say yes and many then do go one to have the cats 'done'

The more he talked, the more convinced I became that the cats were not indoor cats. Besides, he did not reek of tomcat and there is no way he could have kept it off his clothes if it were an indoor cat...

:(

The people we got Merlin from, let the cats out hadn't had them spayed and knew there was a Tom roaming, the poor mum and gran cats looked well and truly bedraggled and
I felt a bit sad when they said they'd had countless litters each :( they'd never been to the vets :( and the cats and kittens were in and out of the house from a young age.

I felt like I shouldn't buy Merlin but I looked at him and thought who knows where he'll end up if I don't buy him as they were desperate to get rid of him if you know what mean.

I was nieve with my first cat and didn't have her insured that hit me hard when she became critically ill and I had a huge bill to pay and after all that she didn't make it :(

I suppose some people think that by shoving food and water down and allowin them in the house they are providing all they need :(

RIP Ebony, she's a good, she's a good, she's Ebony-zer good girl

Its a shame that there are still peeps out there who believe they dont have a problem if they have male cats and dont see the need to neuter

Spose the male children they have are offered no words of advice or protection also  >:( :(

Just too Smidgen to the vet for his second jab. On the way over the taxi driver was waxing lyrical about his cats. Conversation went like this:

Taxi: Ooooooo I've had cats all me life. never 'ad 'em to the vets though. They was all really healthy so there was no need.
Me: But surely you took them to be neutered?
Taxi: No, never had em neutered..
Me: but didn't it worry you with all those kittens?
Taxi: Nope, not at all
Me: but what did you do with all the kittens
Taxi: Oh we never had to worry about that, never had female cats did we?

I was puce with rage  :mad2: :mad2:but could not think of a single thing to say that would not have had me and Smidgen thrown out in the wilds of Chatham ........ Some people are irredemable.

Was greatly heartened that the return taxi driver told me that all of his animals went to the vets regularly for checkups and jabs...
