Peter, what a beautiful tribute - I am reading in work and trying verrry hard not to cry.  We lost Sam end of February.  He was with us 16 years....the pain of losing him hit me like a sledgehammer.   I miss him every single day....your pain will never go away but will ease as time goes by...

R.I.P Beige...you were much loved

Thank you so much. I could see Ula fighting back tears today when she gave a client a coffee and put it on the middle of the desk. When Beige was around we had to be careful where we put drinks for fear of Beige leaping on the desk and knocking everything over.

I know it seems inconceivable right now but one day you will go to put a coffee on that desk and look back and smile as you remember how Beige used to knock everything over on the desk

When I posted the other day my PC wouldn't let me view the webpage for Beige but I can see it today. What a handsome boy he was.

Working from home meant I had Beige near me for the vast majority of the last 11 years of my life. It's very hard to accept his loss.

   It's because we have so many memories bound up in our lives with them - we see them everywhere, yet they're not there.  Remembering them is bittersweet because they're gone, and there's such emptiness where previously there was much love and joy.  Everything we do - because we now do it without them - is another loss, a small death in itself.

I am so sorry for yours & Ula's loss  such a beautiful tribute

I lost my boy in October and I cry my tears still  :'( but like i have said a million times - having him in my life for nearly 14years was worth the pain and my own guilt when i lost him. He made my life a better one, the same as Beige did for you all and I take comfort in knowing he'll be waiting for me at the Bridge. Whether its true or not, if it makes my life without the people and animals i love more bearable and easier for me on my last day here, that does it for me.
Thinking of you all at this very sad time

Goodnight, God Bless Beige xx

Sorry to have to welcome you to Purrs at such a sad time

Beige was very handsome and obviously very much loved, RIP Beige safe and sound at the Bridge by now xx

The Greatest Gift

I always knew this time would come,
From the very instant our eyes first met.
How I loved you then! How I love you now!
I made a promise then, and I will keep that promise now...
You will not suffer from a pain that will not heal;
You will not know the loss of a life remembered, now gone.

It is for me alone to make this decision,
The price for the bright joy and pure laughter
You brought me during the time we shared.
I am the only one who can decide when it is time.
When my hope dies, and my fear rides high,
Just when I need you most, I must let you go.

It is for you alone to tell me when you are ready
For without your guidance, I will not know
When to lay my grief, my guilt, my anger
My sorrow and my selfish heart aside
And give you this last gift, this greatest gift.
Your eyes will speak to mine, and I will know.

The pain of this moment is excruciating.
Tears stream down my face in a river of sorrow.
And my heart drowns in a pool of grief.
For you have spoken and I have listened,
And unlike other decisions I have made
This one brings no relief...no comfort...no peace.

For if there´s one thing you´ve taught me,
If there´s only one thing I´ve learned...
Unconditional love has a condition after all,
I must be willing to let you go, when you speak to me
I must be willing to help you go, if you cannot go alone.
And I must accept my pain so you can be free of yours.

Go easily now, go quickly now,
Do not linger here, it is time for you to leave.
Go find your strength, go find your youth.
Go find the ones who've gone before you.
You are free to leave me now, free to let your spirit soar
Rest easy now, your pain will soon be gone.

I pray I will find comfort in my memories...
In the dark and lonely days ahead.
I cannot say I will not miss you, I cannot say I will not cry.
For only my tears can heal my broken heart.
But, I promise you this; as long as I live,
You will live, alive in my mind, forever in my heart.

So I give you this last gift, all I have left to give,
And this will be my greatest gift...sending you away.
It is the measure of my unconditional love...
For only the greatest love can say,
"Good-bye, go find the bridge, we'll meet again,
Loving you has been the greatest gift of all."

Forever and Always... Until Rainbow bridge....

Thank you. Despite his age, Beige was very active and so full of joy.
MacBeenz was taken so young. So much personality for such a young age.

Peter am so very sorry for you and Ula on losing such a special cat.  What a beautiful tribute.

I know how you're feeling right now - we lost our own very special baby on the 5th of May this year to a road accident.  It's so damned hard dealing with the emptiness left behind.

Rest peacefully, Beige.

Thank you for your kind words.
Beige wasn't given valium because after discussing the matter the vets were worried about what would happen. I'm sorry for the confusion and I have changed the website to make it clear.
Olivia was a really beautiful cat. Your poem is wonderful. It's a shame that the more we love our pets the more painful it is when they go.

I'm so sorry for your loss Peter  :(
I see Beige was given Valium, do you think that may have played a part??
We lost our Olivia after she was given Valium and Never really came out of it
but that is something we will never know for sure, as we refused to let the vet do an autopsy

every now and then a Special furbabe comes into our lives, and it is such a Blow to lose them  :'(
Time will heal, but they will never be forgotten

You have made a Wonderful tribute to Beige   :Luv:

Thinking of you both

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay
