What can i say as a tribute to this wonderful friend and companion ?
Well, he was a very handsome boy to start with , lovely and clean , so good taking all his pills and medicines , never minded being groomed and absolutely loved to show off his lovely furry tummy to everyone .
He was friendly , gentle and the most loving cat you could wish for , no-one slept round your neck quite like he did -the best cuddles you could ever want -thats what i am missing so much , along with those lovely furry feet that he used to put in my hand , so we could go to sleep with him snuggled in my neck , holding hands and paws .

I miss his smell -unique , like a warm ball of wool , i miss his howling when he didn''t know where i was , and when he heard me  shout him , he couldn''t come fast enough for more cuddles .  I even miss his howling in the car as he hated it so much .

I miss him lying in front of the fire as that was the one thing he didn''t like sharing ! He loved to be warm and cosy and even on hot sunny days ,he would lie on his back warming that big tummy he had , and then at night lie in front of the fire and when it was switched off at night he would get in his heated bed waiting for me to get in my bed so he could cuddle up with me .

Smartie was a true gentleman and a  cat in a million to me and he was my soul mate and we loved each other unconditionally .

I will miss him for the rest of my life and hope that one day we will be together again and never ever be seperated again.

Play hard on that bridge and soak up all that warm sun with your new furry family of brothers and sisters that Bungly has now introduced you to- there is a big furry family of mine up there now.

Thankyou everyone.

I took Smartie to the crematorium today -it ended up being quite a special day too .

Pauline came with me and i picked a photograph casket for his ashes and a plaque to go on it too.
Smartie was laid in his little wicker coffin wrapped up in his fleecy blanket and put in the chapel of rest ,he had a rose on top and flowers either side .
I had some time with him and then we left (picking up the ashes next Monday and he also gets a rememberance candle too)

Just as we were in the car to leave (the lady had gone into the house next door) i looked out the window and saw 2 white doves flying around the chapel of rest -a service i believe you have to pay for -BUT no-one was about and i hadn''t requested it !?

When they had gone ,we left , and a mile or so down the road  i told Pauline to stop the car - from where we had just left ,stretching right to where we were going was a large full rainbow !!!
I watched till it disappeared , then as we got to the way home -another appeared again stretching across to our way home .
I like to think one was from Smartie and the other from Bungly telling me she had met him , as its almost 2 years since Bungly went to the bridge.

When we got to a big roundabout i wasnt sure of which turning and i suddeny decided to go one way which i realised about 10 mins after was a different way i would have usually gone.
As we got towards Lincoln ( not the way i was planning to go home and not the way we had gone either ) Pauline said to me -this isnt the way we came -we are in Bracebridge Heath .
I said to her -what did you say ? She replied Bracebridge Heath it says , why whats the matter ?

Smartie came from Bracebridge Heath where i picked him up from almost 13 years ago !!!

What a lot of odd/strange things , all to happen today !
