My cats get three helpings of meat a day and biscuits for overnight. There are four biscuit bowls and they get a small handful in each. Three meat meals for our three uses about a tin and a half. :)

PS: Is this the same Drum and Bass as jezebels? :)

Thanks Susanne

It's a bit hard to tell as Bass is a little greedier than Drum so with the 24/7 dry I'm not entirely sure, especially at night.. they are both getting probably 25 - 50g on dry on top of their wet and are cleaning their bowls.. I think I might up their wet by another quarter and see if they still eat it all. I've seperarated them when feeding as Drum tends to come back to hers whereas Bass tends to eat all hers and then start on her sisters if given the chance!

How much dry are you feeding them?  I think approx 20g biscuits is equivilent to 100g wet food.  But obviously wet foods vary with some containing better quality protein, some higher fat etc so the amount they need might vary.  Jaffa gets approx 300g wet food per day and Mosi gets approx 150g wet and little dry with each meal.

Lupin who is just under a year but only one third of grown is having 3-4 pouches and no dry food at present, we are nearly back to 3 pouches and he has stopped complaining.

Each cat is different and you need to try and judge is they are happy with what they are eating I think. If they are hungry they usually tell you.

My two big moggies eat less than Lupin.

My two cats (who I've had since kittens) were indoor cats for the first year and a bit of their lives. They do go out now but only when I'm in and when it's daylight so they're still pretty much indoor cats. I've always fed them 1/4 of a carton of Bozita each for breakfast and the same each for dinner, that's the approx equivalent of two pouches each a day. On top of that they have a bowl of biccies down 24/7 but they don't tend to eat that many biscuits. The bowl probably lasts 3 or 4 days at least.

So mine have approx 200g of wet food each per day plus a handful of biscuits. Your girls are having 100g a day each of wet + biscuits. I guess it depends on how many biscuits they're consuming, could you try weighing out set portions of biscuits to see how much they're eating biscuit-wise?

Hey guys

I keep reading conflicting thoughts and whilst packets have feeding recommendations I'm worried they may assume a lot of outdoor running about so what would you recommend is a good amount to feed indoor cats?

I've switched their food slowly from whiskas and am currently experimenting with various higher grade complete wet foods (have some grau, bozita and animonda carny on order) plus bozita or encore complete biscuits sprinkled on top. They are eating well, better each week actually as at the shelter they didn't eat much at all. Currently they are on 50g each morning and evening of wet food with dry down all day and a small amount on top of the wet. Do I need to give them more wet food?

They are both quite good at drinking their water...

Thanks  :)
