if she has a similar or same problem to my fraser xrays are unlikely to show anything wrong.

to be diagnosed fraser had to have gastric biopsies (via endoscope so non invasive)

The other option to Hills Sensitivity is Perfect Fit Sensitivity, probably cheaper! But if shes doing ok on kitten food then why mess with things?!
Maybe she had a big hairball that shes managed to pass out and that coinsided with the kitten food! You might be able to wean her onto adult felix, the recipie cant be that different

Since giving her the kitten food
shes able to be a normal cat at meal times again
i dont have to keep stopping her half way through her meal to take a break
and i dont have to supervise her all the time , i just put her dish down and she eats as much as she wants sometimes quite fast too and she hasnt brought none of it up
shes having 3 pouches aday plus fresh chicken
and she would possibly eat four pouches of it aday

ive rang my vet this morning and she said its fine for her to continue until thursday when she has the xray .

That is ridiculous to have to wait so long and almost unbelievable. What happens in an emergency? I would ring them now and ask for action on Monday, say your little one has waited long enough.

No i will wait till thursday
i understand they r busy and its not if shes ill ,she is a very happy contented little sweetheart and shes had another pouch of kitten food and lots of freah cooked chicken today and some cat treats and its all stayed down , obviously if the xray shows she is ok then i will ask the vet so sale me some hills sensitivty pouches they will b better than kitten food for her ,
im dreading thursday im gonna b a bag of nerves and shes gonna hate the traveling to the vets and shes gonna be so nervous when i leave her there  :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

That does seem quite odd - vets have to be able to have access to x-rays for emergencies - my vet is a branch, so we go to the main vet, but the vet takes them over there, and they have always been done within days, or I could opt to go to the out of hours vets, they obviously have everything there, as in an emergency you can't afford to wait.

I read that because it has higher protein levels, it may cause issues with kidneys - but i have never been able to find that article since!! But, it is higher in fat, so you do have more chance of them being overweight on it.

As you know yourself Kitten food is not really ideal for cats long term.

Why is that then Ela? Purely because of the calorie content of them or for other reasons as well?

you are best off not changing her diet without the vets OK though, as it could affect what they are checking on Thurs - although I did think that was the week just gone, not the week coming.

I thought it was the week just gone as well. In that case if she hasn't been to the vets stick to the chicken.

I think our confusion stems from the fact that there are  a couple of topics (different names) about the same problem. ;D

i just feel guilty about her always just haivng chicken

If a vet advises that it is in your pets interest then you should not feel guilty.

i just feel guilty about her always just haivng chicken ,she crys for cat meat , shes the kinda cat that would rather have the cat food than the chicken , i just thought i was trying to make her more happy and content by giving her a bit of kitten food if she keeps it down which she has done so far  :Luv:

Has Bridie been to the vets yet? If so was anything found. As you know yourself Kitten food is not really ideal for cats long term. I appreciate sometimes you are in a catch 22.

Sounds fine. Kitten food has extra protein, vits and minerals etc so won't do her any harm at all (just watch that it is higher in fat)

Hi , as most of u know ive had my bridie just living on chicken most of the time as she keeps bringing up cat food
anyway a few weeks ago when i was on that free sample site i applyed for the felix kitten pk it came yesterday and u get a few pouches of kitten meat free with it ,i thought to myself shall i try her with that and see if she keeps it down , shes had 3 pouches so far and shes kept it down and loves it , i know its far from ideal but i thought its better than her having just chicken all the time, until i find out if she has a probelm as to why she wasnt keeping her food down im going to keep giving her the chicken plus a few pouches of kitten meat and just see if she does continue to keep it down ,
any comments on this please ?
