What's tinned chicken? I let mine have some prawns when I had some this week, and the girls turned their noses up - Sam wasn't so daft though!!

Hes having some extra normal food but its slow progress on that, his coat is certainly nicer eating lots of tinned chicken tho. Strangely he wont eat much normal chicken even if if i pull it into the same shape threads as the tins  gooey is the only cat to eat prawns here  :shify:

How about prawns or small chunks of chicken?

Glad to hear it isn't cancer, although not sure what else you can try to help him gain weight - maybe just a bit more of his normal food at each meal?

;D I've changed the first post too so it shows on main list of threads

Thanks, had a blonde moment  :evillaugh:

Any suggestions for foods to get weight back on that arent sloppy/runny/pate? Recovery tins/formula pouches and a/d are still too difficult for him to eat. Iv got convalescence pouches that are chunks but hes not overly keen on them  :tired: cimicat has to be limited or his tum reacts!
Trying to get extra meals to him is extremely difficult, little chicken smells food and starts screaming which alerts all the others :sigh: :scared:

Turns out he had 3 squiffy areas once my vet had a good look so he took a bit of each area, i know he was thinking cancer but seemed abit happier when i collected. Simons tongue isnt squishy and thick so just hoping its a surface issue. Will know mid week hopefully  :scared:
Simon had 4 portions of grub when he got in, you would never know he had his tongue cut and stitched a few hours previously, quite amazed how hes coped with this. Chicken tins still comming up trumps but he will try other meatier foods  :Luv2:
Have managed to get 100g or so back on him too  :)

The applaws chicken has been handfed the last few days which he is eating but wont touch anything meaty, fortunately tesco do a chicken tin thats nice and gloopy and complete  ;D so i can feel happier some important bits are going in.
Hes still not normal and had a check up today, i noticed a pale area on/under his tounge so hes had ab jab and to start metacam for a few days to see if it clears up and sorts the eating issue, with his history of mouth swellings and stomatitis he will have a sample taken if no improvement with new meds to make sure it isnt nasty  :scared:

Gooeys also under the weather being sick so hasnt had his metacam which makes him moody as his hip plays him up, vet helpfully sends jab home for him after hearing hes in a v.bad mood and chuckles to himself  :naughty: got him whilst he was sleepy so vet can eat his hat  :evillaugh:
